Because Conte is a short term solution to a long term problem?

He'd have United competing in a short period, which would be a good base for a successor. A League and FA Cup in 2 seasons with Chelsea, sacked for finishing 5th in Second season. A Scudetto in second season with Inter. He would have stayed longer but the owners started cutting the budget.

If the alternative is a 5 year deal for Graham Potter who is managing Brighton with no pressure, then god help us

Plus people seem to forget that it was him that turned Juventus back into a top team, not Allegri as seems to be the narrative.

Conte is ruthless and takes no crap, but what is different in comparison to Mourinho is that he is more modern than Jose and is not past his best.

True, Conte brought Pogba to Juve also and he performed really well.

Anyone check in on GJL or St Pats Abu? They seem to be gone missing...

EC was on here today, no comments yet but hopefully he's doing well. St Pats is sadly no longer with us

Big loss.
That's just, like your opinion man.

James Horncastle in The Athletic makes a pretty compelling case for Conte.

Hopefully United don't heed it. ;D

Manchester United need to back Solskjaer more.

312m is 3*Pogba or 1.5*Neymar
It won't buy a team.
It's about half of Man Utd annual profits.
And what? State of the United fans crying about the club not spending enough. Cry about mismanagement all you want, but a lack of spending isn't one of the problems.

yellowcard

United have been mismanaged for years at boardroom level, some of the salaries handed out are eye watering. Sancho getting £350k per week to sit on the bench and Martial on £250k. Sancho may well yet prove to be a world beater but there are countless other players being paid way above their performance level.

Sancho is world class player, who has been signed and left on the bench. Crazy stuff

Anybody have a full breakdown of who's on what wage-wise at the club?

Jebus that must make Ray Parlour and Nick Barmby icons of the game.

According to that website, Ronaldo earns more in three weeks than the entire Brentford together squad, collectively, do in a year.

Also, Anthony Martial earns more in a year than the entire Brentford squad.

Boycey

That wages thing is some load of shite but people lap it up.....

To be honest if someone paid any of us that sort of money for shuffling papers around a  desk, driving a forklift or hammering in nails, we wouldn't complain

It's just the market and what clubs are prepared to pay. Yes it is obscene but that's modern day  soccer

Anyone who follows European football knows how good Sancho is. He would have been sensational in that Liverpool team
