It's just that De Gea's form reminds me of the demise of Paul Robinson, Joe Hart, Jim Leighton. A steady and reliable presence that once standards dropped a little, could'nt stop mistaking mistakes. I wouldn't compare him to Grobelaar, who was always an eccentric, or James, who always looked the part but always made mistakes too. It was his reliability marked him out for the past 3-4 years.

Leightons head must have been totally gone when Ferguson bust his balls to get Les Sealey in double quick pronto for the FA Cup replay IIRC.

This was a man who'd followed Ferguson down from Aberdeen.

Ferguson was a ruthless hoor and needed to be.

United would have lost that replay if Leighton had started. No doubts. I felt sorry for him but it was the right decision for the team and the club. Leighton was a brilliant keeper at his peak.

A quick look here can see some of the problems United have in terms of fitness

https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2019/statistics/round=2000980/players/index.html

Martial's & don't make for good reading when compared against players in similar positions. Pogba's probably not as bad although if their were stats for sprints he'd be near the bottom of it, does more strolling about the pitch than most.

Been told those running stats improved when Ole took over.

Fitness is a great buzz word they use in most sports. Love it when they say in GAA 'We weren't fit enough"....of course the actual reason for losing the game is more often than not, not intelligent enough.

I think if we are being honest, especially in the case of exceptionally athletic and lean professional footballers who would be in and around 12 stone wet, there's a lot of be said for having the want to sprint. The desire in some of these players is simply not there. They do not care.

Did Leighton not have a few good seasons in Scotland in the mid 90's? He played in the 98 World Cup, so he must have been in decent form.

The quality of Scotish goalkeepers in those days were always suspect.
I have more respect for a man
that says what he means and
means what he says...

Lukaku the fat ****, bottom of the second page. If it was a race to the chip shop he wouldn't be that slow.

What are you filtering by to get Lukaku bottom of second page? Martial's running stats are much worse. Can't be bothered to work out averages but Fred looks to be running the most when he's played.

I'd love to see these for a bigger sample size. Are the Premier League stats available anywhere?

UWS podcast with Andy Mitten and Mark Ogden, a depressing listen for any United fan about the current state of our club. Worth a listen by Liverpool fans too as it compares your well run club with ours.

Why this constant shite that he is fat? He has bulked up too much but he is clearly not fat!

Listened to it myself this morning and was going to reference it. Pretty spot on.

If so I've not seen them anywhere.
