Yeah - you're probably right.

Meulensteen is a coach, not a tactician capable of being a manager or assistant. As coach, his role is to instruct the players in the style of football the manager wishes - I'm not sure he'd have any real impact under Moyes' management.

Sorry, Falcao, yeah. Well there is lots of attractions in Monaco, huge money too. City signed Aguero when a lot big names were after him. They weren't in the Cl at the time.
Yip, money talks.
Between transfer fee and 5 year contract, City stumped up £100m for Aguero.
Most players could be persudaded to give up one year out of the CL in return for bags of cash.

City were pretty much guaranteed success though with their money, united are not. Likewise they are not in the same league as PSG & Monaco when it comes to wages

Offering 300k a week to Rooney. Yeah nowhere near PSG or Monaco

PSG have to suffer (for now) France's rules around "millionaire tax". Check out how much they actually have to spend to pay Ibra his net wages. They can do this because of the sheer wealth of the owners and it's like a drop in the ocean. You think United (or anybody else not bankrolled by petrodollars) can compete with that?

They know they won't be able to attract players of that calibre come summer. Smart move but it's a one off.

The Worker

Has Rooney 5 years left in him? Hasn't always taken care of himself away from the pitch. Bit of a risk.

exactly. Muelensteen while a good coach is no manager as he proved in 7 weeks at Fulham although harshly treated.
He was offered a very good job at united as head of the youth set up and decided to turn it down.

£300k a week. 300 bloody thousand! Holy shitballs! Thats about 30 years wages for someone on minimum wage. And enough for most of us to retire on. Unbelievable money.

Captain Obvious

On those type of wages any bald man could get a good hair transplant.

What? They are making Rooney the 3rd highest paid player in the World, wether i think they can or not doesn't make any difference, they are showing intent in keeping their most valuable player. Money from the kit deal should also ease the pain of the finanical hit of not making the CL.

Does RVP get a pay rise as well?

I'm heading to Munich next weekend. anyone ever visited the site of the  crash? was wondering how accessible it is to get to and how far away it is from city centre

I'll summarise for you as you've managed to twist yourself into knots. If you think United can compete with City, PSG or (in years to come) Monaco in terms of their ability to pay top wages across the squad, you are an idiot.
