As the the sleet, snow and hailstones kicks in, it will be interesting to see how some of City's stars cope.

It actually does snow in Argentina and Italy and Bosnia is ball freezing this time of year ;)

It rains and gets miserable in the GAA too and there are sunshine players who shirk it when required to roll up their sleeves.
Whether City have more of these than their rivals could be a factor in an attritional title race. If poncing around in snoods and ego is any indicator, then I'd say its a possibility.

Truth finally out about Darren Fletcher

http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2011/Dec/darren-fletcher-takes-a-break.aspx

Fletcher takes a break

On behalf of Darren Fletcher, Manchester United wishes to announce that he is taking an extended break from football for health reasons.

Over the past year he has had several absence periods which we have attributed to a viral illness in order to respect his right to medical confidentiality. Darren has, in fact, been suffering from ulcerative colitis (a chronic inflammatory bowel condition) for some time preceding this.

Whilst he was able to maintain remission of symptoms for a considerable period this has proved more difficult recently and Darren's continued desire to play and his loyalty to both his club and country has probably compromised the chances of optimising his own health and fitness.

He has therefore accepted medical advice to take an extended break from the demands of training and playing in order to afford the best chance possible of achieving full remission once again.

We request that his privacy is respected and hope that the removal of the additional stress associated with speculation regarding his health will also aid his recovery.

lets see what value is out there now....

Hopefully he makes a full recovery

Bingo

Hopefully he gets his health sorted out. Was missing alot over the last few seasons and was clearly some health issue behind it.

Best of luck to him .

Up The Middle

Always liked Fletcher good honest player, hope he recovers.
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Explains a lot about Fletcher. Hope he makes a full recovery. Lost a lot of weight over the last couple of years.

Yeah, it's well known that Hernandez, Nani, Valencia et al love that sort of weather.

United fans getting all excited because City lose one game.  :D Have you not watched your team over the last few weeks?
It's hard to get excited when United are getting injury after injury & if you don't already know the top two have both lost only one game now.

P.S Darren Fletcher trying to play on with that condition speaks volumes for his passion for the game. it was clear with the weight loss & dip in form all wasn't well, he'll probably need be out for the rest of season to find a cure.

One of the best holding midfielders in the PL hopefully he can make a full recovery.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Tevez on loan to Old Trafford in January ??

I think you could be right there ML. Harry was on saying he's looking for a new player to give them that something else. To me that's code for paving the way for one of their big players leaving in January.

mountainboii

This is Harry's last big push in club football before he walks into the England job next summer. He ain't letting anyone go in January.

Has Evra been watching too much Ali G?!

Give Liverpool reserves a 4-0 trimming tonight. Always nice to beat the dippers. :)

Wouldn't be getting too excited with that. Game was even till Suso was sent off.

Anyways ye are supposed to be on the verge of signing this lad from Castlebar.
Think he's one of the Baba's from Islandeady  ;)

Liverpool reserves must be poor if Mame Biram Diouf can score a hattrick.
