Wouldn't think the team will have too many fringe players in it, there is still topping of the group at stake.. Fergies already said that Gibson will play, Nani will presumably play too maybe Park (if fit) but i'd say the rest be mainly regulars. If there is such a thing  nowadays

Looks decent enough, Berba's knee must have sorted itself out because Fergie doesn't risk players unless they 100% unlike some other so called top class managers....

Pompey have sacked Paul Hart.   We can expect the the Portsmouth players to play the "game of their lives" that usually follows any manager's parting.

I agree and Portsmouth is down beside Southampton, an unhappy hunting ground for Utd for lots of seasons. Remember the 6-3 loss back in the 90s. And by God Pompey will be up for the game because it's Utd. Hopefully the fringe players will play well tonight.
Inaugural Football Championship Prediction Winner.

pompeys home results so far... (in league)

Portsmouth 4 wigan 0
Portsmouth 1 spurs 2
portsmouth 0 Everton 1
portsmouth 2 bolton 3
portmouth 0 Man city 1
portsmouth 0 fulham 1

only beaten wigan, but only lose home games by the odd goal so i expect a 1-0 man united hopefully

good goal by that other team, but Utd seem to be playing really well going forward

disappointing result deserved at least a draw but will it matter in the long run?

Possession

    * Man Utd 59%
    * Besiktas 41%

Attempts on target

    * Man Utd 16
    * Besiktas 2

Attempts off target

    * Man Utd 10
    * Besiktas 4

of the team that started tonight only vidic would be as classed as a first teamer & CSKA should have beaten us in the last game ::)

we still need one point to top the group but i don't think it will make any difference if you don't get it! with Ac Milan, Madrid & inter, barca gonna be possible group runners up

Eamon Dunphy: "Man Utd will not win another major trophy in the next 5 years." ::)

He's written off every single youth player we have barring Macheda tonight.

'The future is very bleak for Manchester United.'

4 years ago he was spouting the same garbage on RTE when he said there was "something fundamentally wrong at Manchester United", yet here we are 4 years later, league champions for the third year on the trot and finalists in the last two Champions League campaigns winning one of them

may history repeat itself....
