Hello everybody. My name is Seb and I am through-and-through Dubs supporter
(Dublin is my county now, isn't it ? ;-)).  I've never played Gaelic football in my life
and I would really like to try so I'm looking for a team which is shite enough that
even I could get to play a game every now and again. Do you know about any
Polish Gaelic football teams  in Dublin ? Any unformation would be very appreciated.
Cheers.

First things first , What part of Dublin are you in?
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.

I presume he can login to www.reservoirdubs.com, if so you will get more information there as their mostly Dubs on that site. Best of luck anyway great to see lads like yourself getting involved.

Phollain_Og

Thanks a million for your advices lads. I'll try the Reservoir Dubs page.
BTW - I live in Rathmines, are there any Gaelic football teams in my
area ?

If you were any use you'd be playing.

Ranelagh Gaels, they cover Ranelagh, Milltown, & Rathmines, they should be at a low enough level for you, they a Junior Club only around 4 years, if you call into Smyths in Ranelagh or look up the contacts on www.ranelaghgaels.ie the lads should be able to help ya out. Great group of lads, the skill level of the panel range from complete crap to very good, so you have a great chance. They play plenty of challenge games too, so you will defo get a game, even if you never get beyond crap.

You will now be known as a Jackeen who will forever hold a begruding chip on your shoulder about all things Culchie and Kerry in particular, I hope you realise that this will have a huge negative knock on effect for generations of your family.

And Meath people will dispise you and make fun of you, You have my deepest sympathy.

Anyway good to see you on board, looking forward to hearing about your exploits in the murky world of becoming a Gaelic footballer.

I'm going to try my luck with Ranelagh Gaels next Thursday (that's when they have their training sessions).

Hi Deel Rover. I started following Gaelic football (don't know much about hurling really) shortly
after I arrived in Dublin over a year ago from the frozen coast of Baltic Sea :)
What I like the most about the game is the level of competitivness (don't know if that's the
right word), what I mean is that when you watch soccer sometimes you see teams not
putting too much effort in the game, just playing for the draw etc. etc. whilst in Gaelic
football the teams show much more fighting spirit and will to win.

I probably won't be any good in playing Gaelic but it should be gas craic anyway LOL

neilthemac

there's more chance of a polish lad lifting Sam than a jackeen...

You are probably following the Dubs longer than most of their 'supporters' :D
