Just heard that he passed away.  Only Protestant president of the GAA.   Seemed like a likeable fellow.

Was sound alright, He reopened our club when the local loyalist vigilantes burned it down.

I met him in Arizona with the hurling All Stars in 2004. He wasn't president at that time. A nice man, like your big old farmer uncle or something. I remember the heat in Arizona, even in January/February was hard on him, but he was in great form.

Jack held a door open for me once. He knew his place.

Seriously though, seemed like a very nice man. Sad to hear of his passing.
