Nail on head Crete as usual.

"Being good is easy, what is difficult is being the best."

I just tweaked a Victor Hugo quote there but I'm sure he wont mind!!

Could you not have found a quote from someone who didn't write a play called Les Miserables?  ???

Christ you're right!!

How about this?

"All of old. Nothing else ever. Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better."

That's could be only be my old friend Beckett. I remember quoting him after the Andy Moran injury v Down in 2012.

"I must go on. I can't go on. I'll go on."

I remember it was seen as too pessimistic at the time but it was a huge blow for us. It was the difference between being the best and not being the best that year imo.

Nah. Beckett is a bit too existential.

You gotta go for the emotional blow to the solar plexus.

How about?

Interesting team. It never looks right without Caff, but good to see Harrison, Durcan and young O'Shea getting their starts.

Some serious experience to bring in at the end of the subs lists + Clarke, but hopefully we won't need to be relying on them to get over the line. Subs 17 - 23 look relatively new which has its pros and cons. But we do need something new to add to the proven performers. Jason Gibbons must be flying in training, which would be great, and Seamie could be a great man to bring in with 20 to go.

Yeah, sold out - no tickets available on the day apparently.

And people are being warned today not to even show up at Ruislip without a ticket.

Nice team. Hard to see Doherty staying out in half forward line. Swapping with COS I reckon.

I'd have thought they'll both stay out in the hf line or deeper, 2 man ff line of Regan and COC/AOS

I'd say so. If O Connor the younger was fit Doherty would be named 15 and playing deep anyway. Cant see Doherty have any role in ff line this year. Conor will need to have come on a lot to cover the ground required by a middle third player when things get serious. But this team should get the job done on Sunday.

Breaffy have used COS very well as a wing-half forward target for long Hennelly kick-outs. Considering Mayo have two midfielders + AOS for other teams to focus on, that might be a useful outlet to explore on teams that push up on our kick-outs.
