Seeing as Sligo don't stand a chance and this game is a mere formality, I am just wondering, is this the strongest bench Tyrone have ever had?
Say what you are thinking!

I think it's the best bench Tyrone have ever had. God help Sligo.

We're seriously lacking in forwards to bring in to change a game. McShane maybe otherwise the plan seems to be bring on another defender/worker bee and then move Mattie or Petey maybe further forward.
Presume Richie D will get another run out.
McCurry is due another goal I think.

Apologies for the dopey question but Is the first figure the number of times on the panel and the other the number of games or number of games then championship games or what?

The first number is total appearances playing and the number in brackets is the number of times they played but started as a sub, if it's like any other use of that format.

Syferus, I think you are wrong there but I stand corrected.

The first number is the total games played be it NFL, McKenna Cup or whatever and the number in brackets is Championship appearances.

Is there some sarcasm in these few comments because IMO this is nowhere near as strong a bench as in comparison to some other teams we have had.

In 2008, we had Stevie O'Neill, Mugsy, Colm Cav, Gourley, Carlin, Holmes, Brian McGuigan all as subs in an AI final - now that was some bench...

In 2005, we could afford to take Peter the Great off and hold him for last 20 because we has strength in depth. Don't forget Hub as in OZ that year as well who would have prob been on bench if at home or started if deemed fit enough.

In reality, if we come unstuck in the weeks ahead can you suggest any player on that bench named for this weekend who would most definitely change the game if he came on - yes Ronie could potentially do it but a bench has to have game changers and unfortunately we don't have any - apart from RON who could come off the bench and get us 1.02 for example to win a game...

Sorry to be a bit of a pessimist but I like to be honest

No, he's not correct: as the original post says the number in brackets is Championship appearances.

There would appear to be good support heading from Sligo this weekend. Tyrone will need to bring their A game to get through this one!  ;)

Fuzzman

Thanks for the heads up CK but unlike the Dubs we don't have a B,C or D team. Look at our sub's at our keeper was our top scorer last year. ;)

I heard that too. Was chatting a man at Sligo Docks today who said its set-up perfectly like the 2002 ambush.

That's a good point......except there are no comparisons with 2002 bar it's Sligo v. Tyrone and we have lost the Connacht final. There wouldn't be too many about the docks that would be experts on GAA to be fair. People like going to Croke Park so I wouldn't be surprised at a relatively decent Sligo support. Hard to see more than 30,000 all told though.

If we can hang in and grow into the game then we might have a chance. The guys we have are a little raw but they can play if they get going.

Fear ón Srath Bán

No doubt about it, it's perfectly set up for a Sligo ambush... except, we're ready for it this fecking time! ;)
