Paddy Power have Ros at 33/1 and Down at 80/1 for Sam. Harder to get out of Ulster.

Seen that the other day, couldn't quite get my head around it. 33/1 seems a bit short for Roscommon. Though to be honest, outside of the top 4 (Dublin, Kerry, Donegal and Mayo), everyone else may as well be 100/1.

True, but it would have Mayo at 1,000/ 1 ;D

Colm O Rourke stated in  todays Irish indo that Down and The Rossies played rotten football in this years national league,
over to ye. This should be fun.

Credit where it is due, that is a big step up from recent years.

Shrewdness

Can't understand why people care what Messrs O'Rourke, Spillane and Brolly think about anything.. I don't take a bit of notice of them. Down and Roscommon served up a thriller in Newry. Interesting that O'Rourke picked on the two teams who secured promotion ahead of Meath.

Jinxy

Only because we refused to play rotten football.
It's sad to see our fellow aristocrats in Down lowering themselves to this.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

If Ros really are the business the standard in Connacht will be raised and Mayo will win the all Ireland first because nothing would kill that final problem more than the thought of the Rossies winning before the rhubarbs.

Are you saying they don't give a f**k about Galway?

Maybe they will . Can I get a serious answer off anyone , what have Roscommon done at senior football to justify all this applause and recognition. I just don't get it and it's not my rivalry thingy here I'm talking through. I just can't understand where people are coming from .What Have they beat like.

If Roscommon get the heads beat off them by Mayo this year in a Connacht final ( not saying it's going to happen, on current form Galway will have our measure) will people hold their hands up and say " ahh jaysus we were way off the mark " or will it be  put down to another learning curve in the 14 years of growing up.
Walk-in down mchale rd , sun out, summers day , game day . That's all .

Rossie11

What applause have got they got outside of the norm of a team going from division 2 to div 1?
None that I can see.
Ross are 3rd best team in Connacht on current form and until the beat one of the big 2 in the Connacht championship will remain so. End of.

+1.
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

Shrewdness

Agree fully with Rossie11 and Rossfan. Nobody in Ros talking ourselves up. Of course we're delighted to be in Division 1 next year, but that doesn't mean that we think we're going to win Sam..Larryin89, a lot of the people talking Ros up are from outside the county. You'll have to ask them why.
