I've never seen this type of support at a club final before, the Rockies seem to have a tremendous support base.

Sorry for the questions but how many clubs are in Tralee and what would the population of the town be? Trying to think of the biggest supported club sides in Ulster. Cross tend to take half of South Armagh to their games so they would be big. Always remember Errigal Ciaran having big support. In Derry it would probably be Ballinderry and Bellaghy. Success tends to bring the crowd.

A black and amber team to represent Kerry, definitely a colour associated with successful teams.

Tralee must have 20k at this stage between town and immediate hinterland. 4 clubs in the town, Austin Stacks, Kerins O'Rahillys, John Mitchels and Na Gaeil. Ballymacelligott, St Pats Blennerville and Churchill would be no more than a few minutes drive from the town aswell.
Stacks (aka Rock Street/Rockies) and Rahillys (aka Strand Road, aka The Naries) are the 2 strongest clubs by far at the moment. John Mitchels are the traditional powerhouse having won oodles of titles, including 5 in a row in the late 50s/early 60s. They have just moved out of their traditional base (next door to Austin Stack park) to a greenfield site on the Killarney road. Na Gaeil are a decent club aswell. A lot of their players have gotten poached by Stacks over the years, but they have produced some excellent underage players in recent times which should keep them going.

What about Killarney? Just Dr Crokes and Legion there? Is Legion the smaller relation of the 2?

Crokes, Legion and Spa also. Plus just outside the town you have Fossa and Kilcummin drawing players. Legion have been second best to Crokes for a while but beat them this year in Senior championship and have an excellent set of young fellas coming through. Having Jameso is going to help them aswell in the battle for hearts and minds of kids.

Interesting dynamic with a large regional town and new families moving in/out and the ensuing fight for young players to join a club. Something we don't really have in South Derry with villages and small towns the norm.

Yeah it's a free for all in Tralee and Killarney. Players will follow family links but of course those with no connection either way are there for the taking.
Outside of that though, things would be as tribal as South Derry or anywhere. You play for where you're from, end of.

82,000 full house ..

You're getting confused. You're thinking about the time Kildare had to give up home advantage and play us in Croker as there wasn't a working jacks in Newbridge

Jinxy

It's about time the Dublin county final was moved to Longford.
If you were any use you'd be playing.
