Grab all leftie Clare Daly moaning about the GAA.  :o
Ironically the GAA, often disliked by the left, is one of the few good examples of socialism at work - Co-operative ownership, not for profit volunteerism and generally being non-elitist.

A strain of socialist politics is based around begrudgery. A dislike of those who get up off their arses, meaning they show up those who prefer to sit back with the hand out.

The mental gymnastics required to approvingly quote Mick Wallace on the subject. . . politics truly makes for strange bedfellows.

Is Mick Wallace still involved with Wexford Youths?
If you were any use you'd be playing.

So, a volunteer led body, providing a co-operative based funding approach to various community and county facilities improvements, not to mention the sporting outlet it has provided to millions of children through the year and continues to do so today, is a 'Grab All Association' because it is paying, yes paying, for the rights to develop and old Army Barracks into a centre of excellence for Westmeath GAA?

What a gobshite this one sounds. Does she realise it? And to be spoon fed lines by that ignorant wastrel, Mick Wallace is a joke. He's a bitter little f**k.

I don't think he's directly involved. The perverse thing is that he once quoted the GAA with approval as his model for the club, and he was absolutely right. A case of running with the hare and hunting with the hounds when it comes to public pronouncements.

Best to let sleeping dogs lie.

At least she came up with an original name for the GAA.

If that melt was on fire it would be hard to find anyone to wee on her.

Feck her and her brand of socialism that would bring the country back again to the Stone Age if anyone was stones enough to try and implement it.

And don't get me started on Mick Wallace..........

I used to have a bit of respect for Clare Daly but she seems totally infatuated by this clown Mick Wallace and pretty much has become a mouthpiece for whatever he believes in this week.

But whatever about Capitalism v Socialism, this is a community, not for profit, organisation ploughing investing its money in facilities to improve the lot of its players. It's bizarre that she would be against it. I hope she gets nailed on this, the GAA has done far more good for this country than any set of self serving politicos.

In a waythat's my point. Her thought process is totally scrambled and inconsistent since she fell in with that eejit. I'd imagine the likes of Joe Higgins is getting a bit embarrassed by her carry on.

Never heard of her

She's been quite a strong performer in the Dáil, early on at least. Socialist in the Jim Higgins mould, or used to be at least. She's the one the Gardai apparently stitched up with a leak about her being done for drink driving, just after she had spoken in the Dail about the penalty points and people getting off. Turned out she was well under the limit, but was frogmarched to the station and made to give a blood sample (I think).

Mick Wallace, on the other hand is, was and will be a gobshite. Unfortunately Clare Daly seems to be easily led.

If her attack was based on the site being used for such a farcical concept as a Westmeath 'centre of excellence', it would have been perfectly valid.

AZOffaly

In fairness, I think it's actually called the 'Centre of Mediocrity'
