He hang on for long enough. At least he went in the end and did the decent thing.

Black Card

He'll probably get a huge pay off at the tax payers expense.

Hardy

Whew! The relief. That man always frightened me. Reminded me of someone ... can't quite place it ...

And Shatter carries on?

It will be hard for him to do so, you would think.

That would seem to be a first for him it seems.

Calling the whistleblowers 'disgusting' when what he should have been doing was following up to see if there was any truth in what they were saying and if there was acting on it, but no, he did the Irish thing and went into coverup mode and slate all around him.

He should have been sacked a month ago.

Takes the heat off Shatter though who should also be sacked for allowing this to go on in his watch, but that's not going to happen..

Obviously this is a move to try to save Alan Shatter. Both should be long gone if there was a shred of decency around, which there isn't.

............back to the payout he's negotiated

Nothing decent about it ...he's getting paid to "do the right thing"
It's a lot easier to sing karaoke than to sing opera

Tony Fearon will presumably be on shortly to laud him

They said on the radio it's the first time in over 30 years.
Also said the acting commissioner is a woman, the first female to lead AGS
"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."

I don't see how this saves Shatter. All the guns are going to be trained on him now, and they'll be armed with the knowledge that the man whose water he was carrying has left him to it. Shatter's robust defence of Callinan was always high risk. It's just gotten more so.
