If you were any use you'd be playing.

Dunno. Like watching most sports your better off getting out and doing something for yourself, rather than watching games on Sunday afternoon and listening to Spillane, Brolly, O Rourke tellin ye how it is.

I m older and more cynical than most on here granted, but in recent years I m only really interested if my own county is still involved. I d rather go and do a run or a bike than watch neutral  football on tv.

It's not the game of gaelic footballs fault you keep losing All Ireland finals.

Leitrim's (joint, the county is just too huge for one) manager George Dugdale is so excited about the start of the championship he's been doing tireless research on New York, "They're probably a big, physical team who will throw everything at us. We have to make sure we can play at a slightly higher pace as obviously they won't have had much match practice and we need to use that to our advantage."

Well I do because I have to navigate the river of tears flowing down Main Street in Ballagh every time it happens.

Not that all the tears are from sadness  :-X

In all seriousness I love watching good football. I had to make myself watch the U21 SFs after what happened to us in the Conacht final but I even enjoyed them thoroughly. I'm also not a bit ashamed to admit the best game of senior football I'd been to in years (until this year's club final) was the Mayo-Dublin SF last September. If anything it's more enjoyable when my team isn't playing because it's hard to enjoy a game when your emotions are being pulled to and fro.

I prefer watching gaelic football when we aren't playing.  :(

I ve attended a few great games as a neutral ( yeah, I used to do that :P) apart from AI finals and semis that we were not in.
Here s a couple.

Ros v Galway in Tuam in 2001. ( Was at the re-match later that had a a bit anti-climax about it before a ball was thrown in)
Sligo v Ros in Mark. - forget the year - Sligo could have won but Cake was the Joker in the pack. Such a game.
I remember a match in Ballybofey in 1993, when there were league games in Oct/Nov. The place was packed and it was like championship with the last 2 AI winners goin at it.  Mc Keever, John Duffy had a graet game.
If I could turn back time.......

2004, I presume? Replay, three penalties, extra-time, Cake kicking game-saving frees and game-winning goals?

Of course the Ros won, though. We were playing Sligo after all.

The Championship needs a signature tune, one that's played at every single game, just before throw in,akin to something like the above, and called "Father Kelly,The Parish Priest!"

The Laois gossun crying kinda sums up Laois.

It's not summer until Longford are out of Leinster.
