Most accommodation in Longford has the old system of phoning it's even worse in Laois they still use the morse code system. You could try http://www.pvslongford.ie/accomodation_1.html#
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

I'd stay in a neighbouring county if I were you.

What's his options..Westmeath or Roscommon?
Christ I think I'd take me chances in Longford.
Unless of course he likes the bestiality then Roscommon is the place to go.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Fear ón Srath Bán

You could do worse than The Richmond Inn in Clondra -- a few miles outside the town, but a good spot.
Carlsberg don't do Gombeenocracies, but by jaysus if they did...

Bingo

You could actually buy a house in one of ghost estates in the area, probably work out as cheap.

Carrick on shannon is where I'd go. Btw, go into the seated area as the view in the terrace is a joke, probably the worst terracing built in the country.

Shamrock Shore

Gold

If ur looking for craic and drinks then stay in PV's. Great bar with accommodation above it. There's a niteclub across the road if you fancy it later on. Good town for craic on a sat night.

"Cheeky Charlie McKenna..."

Billys Boots

As I recall, the Derry folk were always very fond of Ballymahon.  I'll get me coat.
My hands are stained with thistle milk ...

Shamrock Shore

Ah - glorious glorious Ballymahon-sur-mer.

Whatever happened to Da Bishop? He had a quare puss on him when Longford beat Derry in Ballymahon in a League match in......oh.....2005 or thereabouts. Gave out about the pitch and the fact that one side was an open field with cows munching grass watching Jamsie Martin have a stormer.

Oh, the craic we had.

Longfordian

Viewmount House have rooms to let .... out the old Dublin road about a mile , follow the signs ...
Great restaurant out the road ......
Other than that Uncle Longfordian has a B&B in Edgeworthstown ....and usually only one topic discussed in that house , and thats football !
