Listening to Mooney on RTE radio 1, Michael Corcoran doing the 4pm sports news started off with the British open golf pairings, mentioned the hurling draw and the FAI draw.....but no mention of the GAA football pairings. Would if thought the Kerry Tyrone game alone would be a greater headline than who Tiger Woods is teeing off with on Thursday. Am I thinking straight or are RTE just not serving us as they should. There will be multiples of crowds at the next football qualifiers round as will attend the FAI cup games.

They are taking "the product" and keeping it subdued.  They have neither the imagination nor will to portray Gaelic Games to satisfy the people that love them never mind bring it to a new audience.

Croí, do Westmeath respond better to tough love or gentle arm approach because Jason Ryan is a bit of a mollycoddler but I think he is a talented manager.

Traditionally we respond well to the fire and brimstone manager but this is a very young team and they are much more interested in having a tactical manager I believe. I think Jason Ryan could get the best out of them and there's a few there who wouldn't mind being mollycoddled in to the bargain. John Evans is a good coach and we badly need his expertise to straighten out our underage structures. Either would be beneficial for the county, can't think of any better potentially available managers.
Westmeath - Home of the Christy Ring Cup...

As long as Rugby Ryle is in charge nothing will change. You'd be as well off tuning into UTV half the time.
