I just noticed that the throw-in is earlier than usual for a Saturday evening.  6.30pm
egg chasing at 8pm in Paris.

Anyone off the board who walks up to me in the correct pub and says the codewords will have a pint bought for them.
Would a blow-in be allowed access to your clique?   ;D

Let herself do the codewords for ya ;)

DUBLIN (SF v Mayo)
1. Stephen Cluxton
2. Darren Daly 3. Rory O'Carroll 4. Philly McMahon
5. James McCarthy 6. Ger Brennan 7. Craig Dias
8. Ross McConnell 9. Michael Darragh Macauley
10. Paul Brogan 11. Kevin McManamon 12. Bryan Cullen [C]
13. Diarmuid Connolly 14. Eoghan O'Gara 15. Tomás Quinn
You only notice how limited Dublin are in the forward line when Alan & Bernard Brogan are missing.
Hardly a revelation to determine Dublin would badly miss their two best forwards. Especially when last year we only played with 3 forwards who's job it was to score. The Brogans took 2/3rds of all shots taken by Dublin forwards in the championship last year.

Do you not think All Ireland winning team should have better back up when two forwards are missing? Look at Kerry last weekend no Gooch no problem.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Looking forward to the game. It's a hard one to call. But I will be biased and say Mayo will win it by a few points. :)

sans pessimism

it'll be great to see Cil back in the starting 15

Lets judge the AI champions post heavy training period. Our problems last week were far more widespread than missing the two Brogans.

Heavy training period or not i wouldn't be overly confident in scoring ability of P.Brogan,O'Gara,Cullen or the inconsistent Connolly.

There were 40 sessions in January and they're still training twice a day at the moment. I'll hold comment until the last couple of league games.

macdanger2

I would't be judging Dublin on the league at all - they had a long year of it last year andI think Gilroy would be foolish to be pushing for too much this early in the year. If 40 training sessions in January is true then they haven't a hope of making Sept.

Looking forward to seeing how AO'S and Moran get on at MF. Based on the line ups and having home advantage, I'd fancy Mayo but not by much.

mannix

if mayo could win anything out the field i think the forward line picked would be good enough to put up a decent score. i doubt dublin done any more than 20 sessions in january, unless they are looking to get hurt. looking forward to hearing the game, come on Mayo!!!

Jell 0 Biafra

One game in early Feb, with half the team that won the All Ireland starting.  Wouldn't be judging them on that at all.

That said, had Kevin Mc's second half goal chance gone under rather than over the bar, they might have even nicked it.

Did you not watch last year's championship? We'd only one back up forward and we won the All Ireland.

Of course it'd be nice to have more!

Very loose marking by the Mayo defenders, Dublin on top at the moment 0-8 to 0-3 26mins gone. James McCarthy sent off seemed harsh could be a turning point?
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

McCarthy gets the line.

Duffy's reffing though so you wonder who's going to be the Mayo man that walks to even it up.
