Not sure if I'm that pushed to see them live...

Worked with a girl whose marriage broke up because she was an Ian Brown groupie and the husband thought she'd eventually grow out of it, she never did...

Great news. Have seen Ian Brown a couple of times, awful voice live, this is one reunited tour I would be interested in seeing. I be more interested in hearing some new material.

Stone Roses.....The reason why I picked up a guitar! (no jokes please)

They'll probably never recapture what they were, while I'll unquestioningly buy whatever new stuff they produce I'll be standing near the front of the concert (hopefully in both Dublin & Belfast) in a Peter Griffin stylee going - play Waterfall & One Love - no new shit - just play them. ;D

Re a few earlier posts - James always get a rough ride, particularly for the sit down song, they generally get stick by people who've never really listened to them.  Their 'best of' CD is a fantastic addition to any person's collection, every one a winner.

And I have a wee brother who still maintains the Second Coming is their best work  :D

First album was amazing. Second one was mostly awful and laboured, a couple of excellent songs aside.

Although everyone says the first was by far their best album, I really like The Second Coming. Maybe it was due to the fact that I listened to it first before I'd heard the first one..I dunno
It's a lot easier to sing karaoke than to sing opera

The second album just sounds so forced and lacking in inspiration to me, like they were having major writers' block issues. Love Spreads and Break Right into Heaven are top notch, 10th Storey Love Song very decent. Rest is awful shite!

Would be great to see them live despite Brown not having a note in his head. Some great, great tunes. I Am The Resurrection, I Wanna Be Adored and Fools Gold get plenty of attention on the iPod!

Was reading today that Brown has a costly divorce on his hands which explains the resurrection.

Ah now. Daybreak, Your Star Will Shine, Begging You and Tightrope are right up there as well.

Actually I thought love spreads and TSLS were both kack, waterfall however is outstanding.

Croi I'd say you owe me tickets to a gig, these will do nicely.

Hopefully the new stuff doesn't ruin them, IB has had some great songs but has been poor live.  I'm told Squire & seahorses were excellent live, think they played Dublin in 96.
Excuse me for talking while you're trying to interrupt me

Saw the Seahorses from about three feet in front of Squire in '96 in the Limelight the day they charted at no.3 with Love Is The Law. Cant remember much about it apart from the fact that Squires fingers moved faster than I thought were possible on that guitar.

The thing I'm looking forward to most is Mani's reunion with Reni. They were a virtuoso rhythm section.
