Apparently the Yids signed a young Italian named Grabatelli.

Nicatelli was already taken by Liverpool. :p
Stand up for the Ulstermen!

Change the title to include the Paralympics?

Thia should be an interesting programme on Channel 4 next Friday.

19:30 Unreported World (T) Reporter Aidan Hartley and director Richard Cookson travel to Gaza, where they meet members of the Palestinian Paralympic team hoping to qualify for London 2012. They learn what it is like to train in a conflict zone, revealing the financial pressures faced by the would-be competitors, some of whom have disabled relatives, and also discover that they have difficulties getting hold of supplies.

More seriously, any want to start predicting winners?

Here is a likely mens 400m winner: Kirani James: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirani_James

World 400m Champion already at 19 and he also runs the 200m which will put up against Bolt in London. He needs to lower his PB a long way to get near Bolt in the 200, but he won't even be 20 years of age at that stage so it might be the 2016 Olympics before he really threatens at 200.

Here he is with a very good time in Zurich for the 400m a few months ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=r99a1-eYgM0

Farah not to win 10,000 - Bekele to win.

Bolt to get a serious challenge in the 200.

Great british hope Jessica Ennis not to win.

Be interesting to see what Ciaran O'lionaird does in the 1500 now he's with Salazar. Also hopefully Ciara Mageean makes it.

Any of our boxers in with a serious shout of a medal? Saw the bit about Nevin on RTE last night, anyone else?

What time would someone have to run to beat Bolt in the 200? 19.10? 19.00??

Kieran Behan (English-born of Irish parents) becomes only the second Irish gymnast ever to qualify for the Olympics.  Interesting story.
