Hello heffo/canalman or anybody.
Can you let us know what is the best way to get from Kylemore Cafe at the corner of Talbot Street and O'Connell Street on Saturday to Parnell Park on the bus - where the bus goes from nearest to there and how much it is.
Is there still a wee bar/club sort of inside Parnell Park or where is the nearest good place to the pitch to get a pint.
Thank you for any help.

Walk towards Amiens Street station and get a No 27 bus from Talbot St?
Hop off at Donnycarney Church, look out the right of the right of the bus and you'll see the floodlights of Parnell Park.
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B

What Armaghmaniac said and you can also take any of the following 27,27B,42,42A,42B,43,20B from across from Connolly station - if you look at Dublinbus.ie you can check times and where exactly they leave from - some of them leave from Abbey st. Just ask the drive to let you off at Donneycarney Church.

You can also get the Dart to Killester Dart station - it's about a five minute walk.

The Clubhouse in Craobh Chiarain will be open and should be busy.

If you fancied about a 10 minute walk you could have a pint in Kavanaghs on the bottom of the Malahide road, not far up from Fairview Park - the old Parnell Park house (which was a kip) has been closed about three years.

The 128 will also get you there and leaves from the same bus stop.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
The plan following the advice now is to get the Dart to Killester from Connolly after getting food in Kylemore as there's seems to be one every 15 minutes and the journey is only 6 minutes going by the website so even adding on the dander at the end from Killester station it should be better than sitting in traffic on a bus. The weather forecast gives it as a sunny day also.  And we will go for a pint in the Clubhouse at the pitch. Looking good.

C&R, hope you have a good time.

Disagree slightly with your itinerary. Don't  dart it imo, take the bus from the stop across from Connolly station. Look at any of the timetables at the stops which say "Malahide/ Malahide Rd"...... ask the driver if you are unsure...... get off at Donnycarney Church...... only a 5min trip or so so no need to go upstairs. Buses go every 3/5 mins or so.

As you walk down Talbot Street, have a quick (I mean it) stop at the Marlborough St junction, usually like a George A Romero film down there. Guaranteed to see some junkies squabbling.

Parnell Park is literally behind Donnycarney Church.

QuoteAlways remember to have the correct change for the bus, they're funny about that.

They'll take any amount of change that exceeds the fare, they just won't give you any back.

Anyhow, customsandrevenue is going by rail.

The Dublin Bus website seemed to give the journey as twenty minutes but the bus is back in the equation now with the shorter journey given by Canalman. All the bus numbers given here are written down including the 128 and we got the Dart times off the Dart website so if we get past the addicts to the bus stop we will make our minds up opposite Connolly. Thanks again to everybody. There's not a cloud in the blue sky here so looking forward to a big day out.

Just seen Antrim hurlers were beat by 38 points in Parnell Park, fooking hell.
