If there was a border poll and passed in the North and South. Would the Unionists kick up a bit of a fuss or would they accept the democratic will of the Irish people.
Or would they pack up and go home to the motherland like Evil Genius?

How would Unionists fancy breaking away from the Brits, joining Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal and just work away ourselves under the name Ulster?

How do Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal people fancy that?

I'd say most of the people I know from those counties would rather eat their own leg than have to join the mickey mouse parade of Stormont and friends.
I would'nt be too sure about that, a lot of them are registered with Doctors up here so that they can get health care for free.

I've seen that poll on twitter and, ignoring the rational health warnings for a moment, on those figures, Higgins must surely win but perhaps the biggest smile in Ireland will belong to Miceal Martin.

Very solid showing from McGuinness, if reliable. Mitchell's humiliation is complete.

If Marty gets anywhere near 20% I'd think he'd have a broad smile.

If Martin Mc gets over 15%, Miceal Martin won't be smiling. Sinn Féin are going to become the second party in the state if FF and Labour are not careful.

Odds dropped on Betfair for Higgins, the end is nigh.

Early tallies on Newstalk:

Longford, Wicklow - Higgins and Gallagher neck and neck.
Cork - Higgins as high as 45% with Gallagher at half of that
Louth - Gallaghers home patch, Higgins winning by a margin of 2 to 1  :D

Looks like it's going to be a very comfortable win for Michael D.

Southside Dublin - Higgins winning 2 to 1, and 3 to 1 in some places
Northside Dublin - Even enough between the two

Looks like its all over bar the shouting. According to RTE, Higgins only had 4 1st preference votes in one box in Roscommon town.

Where were the other first prefs going? Gallagher or McG?
Mitchell is completely tanking, they were talking about him (well, FG) not getting his expenses  :D

I reckon he will, comfortably.

The Finagling Failures tried to pull a fast one with Gallagher (Martin knew his colours all along, but Ó Cuív wasn't happy about it), and it has backfired somewhat spectacularly.
