full back

Thought we should start this after reading a column in the Indo yesterday.
Hopefully we can try and keep it to high profile games, as no doubt everyone can remember brawls between their local clubs.

First up, Mayo & Meath in the AIF, a savage bit of fisticuffs in the biggest game of the year. I remember Coyle slipping around letting loose on a few lads

Hardy

This is the only version of it I can find on Youtube:

It's very poor quality (the video, I mean - the fight was first class). Some lad just pointed a camcorder at the TV screen.

The second half of it, the view from behind the goals, is the best. You can see the start of the whole thing fairly well, as well as the felling of Larry, the arrival of McHale, etc.

lynchbhoy

was in the hill right above this and got a cracking view of it that day.

Mayo just didnt know how to fight. Even nice lads like GK Conor Martin and third midfielder Colm Brady knew how to give it.

that lack of balls lost mayo that AI and prob the rest since also.

Interesting to hear the crowd baying like coleseum goers with the cresendo lifting as the row contingent got larger

Meath were 'double teaming' McHale in the row.
