Well done Lamh Dhearg (says through gritted teeth)

Tough competition to win and for Lamhs a great boost for the future. they need to make sure they bring this team and next years players through to compete at senior level

Just had a quick look over the last ten winners and I am open to correction but I think 7 of those clubs competed in their respective SFC finals either in 2009/10.

Delighted for them. It's a fantastic tournament to win and far many of them it will be the crowning moment of their GAA careers. They deserve it.

wherefromreferee?

The rate the fog was coming in, the officals will have been glad that the didnt need extra time.  Was the greatest performance by White the referee.  Made some very odd calls.  Something seemed to happen during the presentation, with lots of finger pointing from the Magherafelt crowd.  Didnt hear the chant Dennis, had this something to do with it?
In your Endo!

Well done LD - first Antrim winners of the competition for 25 years. Further proof that the Saffron star is still on the rise! A nail biter of a final which was always going to the wire. Ferris and Mc Elhone huge misses for ODR and maybe this factor more than any tipped the balance. Huge crowd - some money spinner for St Pauls.

Highlights from today's Final, this is the first four points and a great save which was very important. The rest will follow on the same website link.

Anyone at this game?

How did the fella who's supposed to be the real star play for Kilcar?

Great to see an Antrim team in the final. Probably only the second time. Even that St Galls minor team the other year with the likes of CJ on it couldn't get near a final.

For every CJ on that team, there was a gallsman.

Could you imagine Gallsman marking you--in your ear the whole time talking down to you, talking about books, how he knows more about soccer, especially spanish and barcelona than anyone, how he knows everything, how everyone is pathetic bar him, or maybe he only does that behind a keyboard, what a wee bollix.

LD did brilliantly--great boost for our county. A great feature of their play was their support play--always seem to give the ball to the right man, not run into blind alleys. Delighted for them

What are you talking about? is that the reason behind our success? You're on to a winner there

I don't agree with those posters who feel this is a major boost for Antrim football. What it is, is a major boost for expanding your catchment area to stretch from Lough (Neagh) to shining (Belfast) Lough; a major boost for the practice of raiding smaller clubs for their finer talents. How many of the LD that played on Saturday started their footballing careers at other clubs?

It is particularly unedifying to see boys being targeted at school and being offered incentives to transfer. Apparently the going rate is a Santa hat, a Youth Sport coat and a crate of Ballygowan water. It was wrong when his mentor from St. Gall's was at it - it's still wrong now.

If LD do go on to make a Senior team backboned by this minor team, they'll  be a good side and there may well be possible championshipship to be won as the current St. Gall's team weakens and no-one else seems to be stepping up to the plate.

Congratulations to Lamh Dhearg.

Its wrong if this happens, but what incentives are you talking about? Our club has no money for an incentive no jobs available behind bar either.

We may have players from other clubs, Usually senior players who have went to college/work in Belfast and joined. they normally stay for 4/5 years and end up back at their home club. Does no real harm and keeps lads in the game. some people would prefer these guys to be lost to Gaelic Games!!

As for targeting kids there is only one club in Belfast that has been doing that on a regular bases. We have lost lads to them over the past 4/5 years
