How about Sterlings 2nd half performance. Done as much as Welbeck. Nowt!
Sterling was England man of the match by some distance.
You wouldn't be letting your club loyalties cloud your judgement by any chance?

Awful shame Pirlo's free kick didn't go in. What a player!
Rooney's shank at the corner kick was lolz.

Thought Sterling was a walking disaster, particularly after the first thirty. He did worse than nothing - he got on a lot of ball and invariably took too much out of it, put in poor crosses or took poor shots. Even managed to foul back in his own back line to put the cap on things.

He's got pace but that's entirely all he showed last night.

The team needs to be built around White Pele and not have him on the periphary...well according to Ole Turnip Head anyway!!!

QuoteWorld Cup 2014: Give Wayne Rooney central role - Graham Taylor

Wayne Rooney should play in a more central position for England, says former national boss Graham Taylor.
Rooney was played on the left by manager Roy Hodgson in Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Italy in Manaus.
Although the 28-year-old set up an equaliser for Daniel Sturridge, he was largely a peripheral figure.
"I am not so certain Wayne likes playing wide," Taylor told BBC Sport. "I would prefer to see him up front because that is his best position.

Sterling was the main source of inventiveness for England and by the 65 minute was run out.  If people look past their club prejudice you will see he is one England player who has the potential to be up their with the best.  He is only 19 remember and as a Liverpool fan my only fear is that he becomes the next great hope (can't even say great white hope :P). Englands problems are that the  defence is poor.  Baines was clueless and everytime I say the Italians attack he seemed to be tucked in beside the CBs or not there at all!!!
[/b]baines got no help whatsoever from rooney. everytime the Italians attacked, baines was left with 2 players running at him. rooney is not a natural wide man and didn't help out defensively.
nil satis nisi optimum

thought it was interesting that giles on RTE pointed out that not one italian player went down with cramp. yet on BBC they were talking about an english player (cant remember which one now) going down with cramp and getting up again soon after as if it was some kind of heroic effort.

Tony Baloney

Honduras taking a serious battering here but still 0-0.

That's about a dozen things I've read of yours lately over various topics & thought to myself - this fella is full of shit. Take a breather ffs.

Would someone explain to that BBC commentator?

Hotshot Hamish

Are BBC commentary dumb.
Making a fuss about the goal line tech.
The first replay was of the ball hitting the post ie No Goal and the 2nd half of the replay was the goalkeeper letting the ball over the line ie Goal.
What's the fuss about?
They are trying to make out it said no goal then goal for the same part of the replay of the goal.

BennyHarp

Carlo Costly sounds like someone Spurs are likely to buy
That was never a square ball!!

rossiewanderer

Dzeko for first goal at 10/1, What a great price.
draw at 9/2 fantastic odds.

Argentina are far from world class at the back.
Bear in mind Bosnia are a better side than Croatia.Pjanic and dzeko are top drawer.

AQMP

Who else were in Honduras' qualifying group?? Albion Rovers and Darlington??

It's like I said during the England friendly against them. Somehow they've managed to combine being diving, whiny c***ts, with being treacherous f**kers as well. Delighted for them.

This isn't the Tyrone Monaghan thread.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Are they sending imbeciles over to Brazil to commentate ?. Goal line technology clearly worked. Baffled all tv commentators it seems.

Have watched 5 games now in total and each of them was brilliant.
