Tyrone won a free going into injury time about 50 yards out and a point down.  The Mayo boys gave a few shoulders and the Tyrone ones reacted, a melly lasted about a minute.  Net result was McMahon unlucky to get sent off but the ball was then hopped and the match over, job done.  If Tyrone had tried to take a quick free and the if Mayo where obstructing then the ref would have had no option but to moved the ball forward and the match would have ended in a draw.  Fairly naive of Tyrone to get sucked into a scrap with time up.
There are no proofs, only opinions.

You're right,we can debate about the red card all we want but with time nearly up,a team with Tyrones experience shouldn't have got involved.

actually one of the more pleasing things about the win, too long we've been a soft touch and not got stuck in and upset teams. We did it yesterday, Howley went down for 2 minutes with an ankle 'injury', the ref called for 2 extra minutes. We fouled well out the field and basically out Tyroned Tyrone in the last 5 minutes.
Excuse me for talking while you're trying to interrupt me

Mr. Nakata

Sean O'Neill had a bad day yesterday. It still depresses me greatly that we've no one who can kick a 45 over the bar. Himself and Joey get the odd one, it's not good enough. A 45 should be a given at this level. Davy Harte was way off the pace, though to be expected as it was his first full run out.

Good win for Mayo again today. Looked more threatening up front than Tyrone in the bits I saw on TG4.
McMahon should never have been red carded. Couldn't believe Gardiner's reaction to McMahon's brush off. He hardly made any contact with him. He went down like he'd been shot

Carbon copy of the incident in the 03 final, player 1 runs twenty yards to confront player 2, player 2 puts his hands up to protect himself, player 1 goes down like he's shot..........wonder did Jerome take a photograph of the contact??

Listen to yourself would ye.

The funny thing is Francie Bellew took a far worse dive in the 04 ulster semi which they have all forgotten about. Jordan took a decent slap in that 03 final although it was his own fault and the sending off was harsh.

Any time a team beats Tyrone they say they 'out-Tyroned' them - same with Cork in semi last year. I suppose it is a compliment... can Mayo be 'out-Mayoed?'   I think Cork, mayoed themselves in last year's All Ireland final  ;)

Agree 100% with that post, not one of Francie's or Jordan's finer moments.

& is O' Shea a wee bit overhyped? at best he only get's one score a game
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Cork kerryied Kerry for the first 15 minutes then Kerry tyroned Cork for the remainder of the game, Mayo were just Kerried in their last 2 finals. ;)

The blonde one along with Alan Dillon took the winter off and went traveling, it looks like O'Shea might need a break also with the way he is playing at the moment.
