Maybe Tommy was like the rest of us who are not Cavan natives, and while we grieve for the passing of a GAA legend, we do however recognise that he was born in America, with only tenuous Cavan links through his mother.

The late Mick Higgins was the GAA equivalent of John Aldridge

Don't take this the wrong way but feck off ya bollox

Oh Tony I'm just about to explode with a reaction to your incredibly witty and well hidden bait....Now please go away and let the grown up's talk.

I can imagine her Majesty's loyal subject Fearon being a bit hung up on this all right:

Mick and Familly relocated back from the USA about 80 years ago;

Were there unused return legs on the tickets;

Are they still valid;

Is there a free trip on all this that Antoine the Brit could avail of and bore us senseless about for the rest of our born days.

Lads calling Tony British is just as pathetic as his remark.

I must admit I never knew much about Mick Higgins until he died - what a career. And after his exploits on the pitch, to make such a contribution in management with 3 counties puts him way up amongst the list of greats.

Rest In Peace.
As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead

I bet half the Cavanites didn't even know that Mick was a NYC native.

Does anyone have more stories about him?  I thought the Eugene McGee article was brilliant but it left a person hungrier for more.
