Anyone read any good Fiction books recently? Or have a favourite particular author?

My own personal favourite would be jonathon kellerman, writes a good story and particularly accurate as he himself is a psychologist who done work with the cops in LA. I'm a psychologist in training so these psychological crime thrillers tick all the right boxes! Recently read a David Baldacci book which I really enjoyed, picked up a few more to see if the stanard remains high!

Stephen King is an outstanding fiction writer, I have enjoyed most of his stuff for many years now.

Dean Koontz is another excellent writer who I enjoy, they would be my favourite fiction writers. I love to read, i am a voracious reader.

I can't get into dean koontz at all.

I quite like the Jack  reacher books by Lee Child. Reacher is quite the character, ex- military policeman turned drifter, and sure enough he has a way of finding someone who needs his help and laying a little smackdown.

Never beat the deeler

Leon Uris - Exodus, Trinity etc.. not always easy to get hold of, but lots of second hand bookstores will have a copy or two lying round
Ludlum
Clancy - the Jack Ryan novels are excellent
Grisham - used to love these books, have read all (i think) except his latest one.

Used to like Patricia Cornwell's Dr Kay Scarpetta novels, but they all get a bit same-ish

Have to say that Robert Ludlum wrote a few good books.

keeping an eye on things

Liked John Grishams earlier stuff (Firm, Pelican Brief etc) but felt he been just churning them out for the sake of it in the past few years.  David Baldacci as someone said has a few good ones.  Read a few by Robert Harris as well which are a bit older but good reads.  My favourite is Karen Slaughter though, some excellent and very enjoyable books, recommend her to anyone.

Bertie Ahern has a Fiction book coming out which should be interesting, or else very dull.

I liked David Gemmell. His Troy Trilogy was brilliant.

Yeah, magic Declan.  For me, presently, it's:

Henning Mankell (Swedish contemporary crime)
Boris Akunin (Russian 19th century thrillers)
Jo Nesbo (Norwegian contemporary crime)
Peter James (UK contemporary crime)
Colin Cotteril (Laos 70s comedy crime)
Hakan Nesser (Swedish contemporary crime)
Peter Temple (Australian contemporary crime)
Anne Zouroudi (Greek contemporary crime)

That should keep ye going for a while.
