With the local & european elections only a few weeks away this will be a good oppurtunity to see how far FF will fall and what gains the rest will make.

For my money I wouldn't vote for FF, SF, Libertas or socialist, so that leaves me a smaller field.
Labour are out, if the unions got a grip of power in this country it would be an absolute disaster, dont agree with anything they have to say, even though they are very capable in getting their message across.

That leaves the greens, doing a very good job in their departments, esp Ryan, or FG, who have the most capable man in the Dail in Richard Bruton or capable local independents.

Chances are we'll prob be left with a core FF vote that shows us we have the government we deserve, rather than them getting wiped out as should happen.
Their argument that "well you couldn't trust FG", is old and annoying and holds no weight, for once FG are coming up with aternatives bt not getting their message across. The public has made up their mind on Kenny, which is disappointing.

On a sidenote a lot of younger, even better looking candidates, the Mary Lou effect no doubt. And has anyone seen Ben Doyle, FF, in Dublin South, a ringer for Ricky Gervais.

EDIT: You have 3 votes in this one if you please
Excuse me for talking while you're trying to interrupt me

These elections are rather pointless. Very hard to choose between Mr X and Y when they've both done nothing for you and you haven't seen either of the for years ? Is it any different down the country?
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.

How does voting labour in local or european elections strengthen Unions? Not slagging, just interested to know your thinking.

European election I'll be asking anyone who calls what there position is on Israel (I have not forgotten about their slaughter of children and our great EU leaders lack of action). The candidate that demonstrates that they have an opinion and they'll forcefully put it forward will get my vote.

Local elections - who knows. It won't be FF thats for sure. Probably give it to SF who have a decent candidate in my area.

there are quite a few hotties in dublin , 2 that i noticed this week are Maria Parodi and Rebecca Moynihan from labour.

Lot of Libertas posters around here in Mayo. They are spashing the cash again. Plus Google seems to think that I reallly need to be bombarded with Libertas ads where ever I go on the web. Leave me alone please!!

Once again SF are running away with it . Looks like we are in for a few more years of SF government . This must be the 40th consecutive SF government down here.

Aye Parodi has caught my eye aright, there's another one in round city centre - FFer, something Ryan - cute too (as I suspected she's Eoin Ryan's daughter, so even if I were ever going to vote FF, voting for her would violate my never vote for someone who's family is involved in politics rule, I could show my support in other ways ;)).

Anyway, here's a link to her bebo page (honestly, these youngsters):
http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=7130939799 - her posters cuter, must get looking for Parodi now.

found her, again her posters are better, she's a bit mouthy looking here:

And they foolishly give you lads a vote, it would be better and more intelligent to hold a plebiscite in a kindergarten, at least we would be spared the juvenile sexism

why do you think many of these candidates are put forward in the first place?  why do they have airbrushed posters?  we're only reacting the way the marketeers and pollsters predicted we would.

Local elections are funny. We have two good councillors in our area (both have worked well with our club and various community groups on issues) and I want them both returned. The FG guy got 2 quotas the last time so he'll be sound. The other one is FF so with what's happening nationally she could be under pressure. Think I'll give her the no. 1 despite her being FF. Will then vote the whole way down the card against the other FF candidate.

For Europe FF will get nothing from me. Think Harkin no. 1 and stop there.

Higgins No.1 for Europe for me, don't know if I'll go further down, wouldn't mind giving McKenna first pref though as she's no chance of getting in and I'd like to emphasise just how out of touch the 'real' green party are.
As for local, waste of time, my main criterion is to ensure that no votes go near anyone who is relying on their family's political dynasty to get elected.
I could also vote for George Lee, but whilst I like Lee, I don't think it's fair on Alex White (labour), so I'll probably give White my vote (thus continuing my record of never having voted for a winning candidate).

Stupid, immature, behaving like you never seen a woman before, that's the way they thought you'd react, well done for living up to that  ::)
