It isn't dead yet, by a long shot. We have only had a few reincarnations so far since the original board. 5/6 cat lives left yet.

So you're saying Stall the Burier, Stall the Bailer?  ;)

A slight criticism of mine is that it is a  little too centred on the North imo. Would love to hear more about the rest of the country. Still a good forum all the same.

I would agree, but where are the boys from Wicklow, Wexford, Carlow, Waterford and Kilkenny?

This is something that I've wondered since I joined about 18 months ago.

Why is the board so Ulster centric? What happened in the evolution of the board that pushed it this way?

Is it simply that there is more interest in the GAA in the north (don't really think thats the reason myself)? Or do the rest stick to sites like hoganstand or specific county message boards?

The board would improve greatly if there was a more rounded representation of the whole country.

This might be co-incidental, but from what I've noticed over the years is that membership of the board has generally increased in proportion to the availability of broadband. As broadband became more common, then membership of the board has increased and with (almost) 100% coverage in the North then it gradually has become more Northern centric with an influx of new posters. The patchy rural broadband coverage in the Republic seems to have impacted the growth of the Southern membership. Interestingly, the number of Mayo lads seems to buck the trend.

Aye, Mayo and maybe Dublin are pretty much the only non-Ulster counties that you could get a decent bit of reciprocal discussion out of in a thread.

The threads for Armagh's first 2 league games have been 95% centred around Armagh with only 2 Wexford lads adding a couple of comments and no one from Laois. This gets very boring after a while, its nice to read a different perspective on things from time to time.

I agree with the above and there seems to be too many Mayo fellas on it for my liking at times! Especially when we lose! Anyway, where have all the Tipperary hurling men gone?? Colombia, Galteemountainboy, Home of hurling etc, those lads used have great posts on hurling and I even used like reading about the club scene in Tipp because of their posts.

Your right Fear ón Srath Bán, Stall the Burier!

Though the board can stall at times (not very often), it is not long before someone comes on with their yarns about tractor reversing or the likes and then farney man with his words of wisdom.

I honestly believe you might have people coming on the board and seeing that it seems to be 80% Tyrone and Armagh people and just not bothering with it.

Have noticed that the amount of southern posters seems to have diminished a bit recently. Then again maybe it's just one of the board's intermittent quiet spells.

imtommygunn

I'd say it is- just look at that cork hurling thread. Now it's personal vendettas and a vast number of people with no clue what they're talking about.

Referee posts and various shite stirring on the antrim thread hasn't helped my opinion.

Should get better come championshi- hopefully...

Sure them Tyrone bucks started that thread on Feb 16th and anyway we were too busy what with the hurlers in action a few times since and NUIG goin well in the Sigerson, Corofin in the club football and the outstanding Portumna in the hurling.  Them Tyrone feckers have only one team to be botherin with  ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

Can I suggest supporting your club/county in the Scór while there is little football on the go??  County final/provincial semis on at this stage so it should be good quality entertainment!  :D

Half a loaf is better than no bread folks, never forget that.

If you have greener pastures - then by all means move on. If not, put up, shut up, debate or do whatever the hell you want. Just do it with a little respect for everyone else and lets drop the sanctimonious claptrap. Different strokes for different folks.

There have been more incarnations of this particular thread than any of the tyrone threads.

By the way - where is ULADH? I even put him in the allstar team to keep him here, even though he couldnt kick snow off a ditch.
