Kerry captain Paul Galvin has lost his latest appeal against his six-month suspension.

Galvin is now likely to take his case to the Disputes Resolution Authority after this appeal to the Central Appeals Committee failed.

The Finuge player was given the six-month ban for knocking the referee's notebook to the ground in the Munster semi-final against Clare.

DRA here we come !!!!!!!!!!!!!

He doesn't have a leg to stand on with the DRA - case closed I'd say.

DRA is only there to ensure that there are no legal technicalities and that the correct procedure was followed.

Kerry will just have to swallow their pride and get Frank Murphy on the case. Their only hope!!!

I think this is one that is beyond even Frank's powers!

Of course it will got to the DRA but I think it will be upheld as the GAA needs to be seen to be disciplinarian in this one, whatever the rigths or wrongs of that attitude may be.  Time to move on I feel, and of course Pat O'Shea will use it to create a stronger mentality among the players.

I have images of Galvin at the top table in the Burlington in Septemeber beside maybe, the captain for the day, Darragh on his swan song, both of them holding the cup for the cameras.  Fate has a way of working out like that.

BTW, KM, be nice please, school's out for summer remember, and not everyone knows the Alice Cooper song :P

Remember Paddy Bradley and a whole lot of other cases as well !

Result is due this morning. He was up last night. Not too hopeful down in Kerry.

he GAA's Dispute Resolution Authority hearing arising out of Paul Galvin's request for arbitration took place last night but was not completed.

The Tribunal will reconvene on Monday next, July 21 2008.

The Finuge clubman received a six-month suspension following an incident during the GAA Munster SFC semi-final v Clare when he 'knocked' referee Paddy Russell's notebook to the ground having been on the receiving end of a yellow card.

Galvin was appointed captain of the Kerry side at the start of the year.

Would have thought that if they were going to just turn it down flat it would have been over and done with last night.

Personally I think it should stand. Referees need protection and a line has to be drawn in the sand at this stage. I know I wouldn't put myself forward as a ref in any sport other than rugby.

No referees- no games.

DRA hearings are about the detail of procedure, not rights and wrongs

So he's running on a procedural / technical basis then ?
