It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

I saw this programme. It was very unfair on Louth especially as they hadn't won a Leinster final for over 50 years and who knows when they'll next be in a position to win one. Referee at fault for not spotting Sheridan carried ball over line and then not properly consulting with umpires. He just went in to tell them to put up green flag even though umpire didn't put it up first as he clearly saw the goal was illegally scored.

Umpire on Cusack side had a great view of it. He obviously hadn't a clue what to do, and wanted Sludden to make the call. If an umpire is standing feet away and still hadn't the experience to make a call either way, you got to wonder what he is doing there.

Well it's a little late for this kind of feedback

Yes but some posters earlier in thread were blaming umpire who was only doing what he was told by referee and also Louth for not being further ahead for what happened. A good referee would have properly consulted with umpires instead of telling them what to do.

Is it too late to offer a replay?

The ingredients are right, Joe's going well for Seneschalstown
Westmeath - Home of the Christy Ring Cup...

Yeah, it's all Louths fault!

Crazy to think there were 5 officials down that end of the field and none of them knew the rules.

Did no one spot the square ball in the 1957 final for Louths goal so I suppose it's all fair in the end.

Sheridan after presentation did TV interviews, came into dressing room and let a roar out of him in celebration. Meath lads sat and looked at him in silence, more or less to say "catch yourself on Joe, we didn't deserve that".

None of the officials interviewed though. Strange that.

Are you sure? The players looked pretty pleased going up to receive the Delaney Cup! Each taking their turn to hold it aloft! A lot of hugging each other on the pitch as well?

We also found out that poor Joes lived at home at the time and his Mammy reads his mail.
