Any theories on why Cathal Cregg is playing so poorly at the moment. He was very poor in the Galway game, mediocre against Westmeath and exceptionally poor today.. He looked like the one making his debut. Well done to Cian Connolly on a good display. Very promising player, who by all accounts, had been flying in training.

I am sure Syferus will be able to answer that, he was suffering from verbal diarrhoea on this forum about his performances last year in the league against the mite of Limerick in March, so much so he became known as the bearded magician. Anyone outside the county would think he was as good as james o donoghue the way he was waffling on so please Syferus tell us about how great he is now or as usual are you going to be shown up as a spoofer?

Whatever issues you might have with a poster's braggadocio, which to be fair many GAA fans indulge in, Cathal Cregg does not deserve your abuse. He might have had a bad day today but Roscommon would not be in Division 1 without some of his earlier performances in the league. He's soldiered through some dark days in Roscommon GAA. He was a bright spark back in the days when we used to take regular hammerings. I remember him nearly beating Meath on his own in a league game back in 2007. We drew that day. The rest of the campaign was a litany of brutal hammerings that saw us go from Div 2 all the way down to Div 4. We've come a long way and lads like Cregg and Kilbride and Seani, who unfortunately had to miss today, who stuck with it are to be commended.

Hard luck to Down today. Not much can be read from the game. The sending off was ridiculous and there was hardly a dirty foul in that game. That said, some of the scores were top drawer - and Senan's points were a joy to behold, his old man definitely the best thing to come out of Ballagh if you get my drift. I thought Cathal Shine and by the way the Shine brothers are not related really stood out as a minor in 2008 and scored an amazing point against Mayo in Salthill where he nearly kicked it the length of the pitch with a gale behind him, so it's great to see him starting to fulfill his promise, some mighty catches today. Onward to London.

Love this line.

The sending off was the turning point in the game.  They were soft but the second was a 3rd man tackle.  Should have been a Black card.

Does the rule say 3rd man tackle or is it blocking the runner off the ball?
Anyway the game is done and dusted as is the entire NFL for this year.
Now the real thing is about to begin and apart from the Ulster and hopefully the Connacht - the rest of it has a terrible predictability about it. :-\

Well done Roscommon. Good to see a real honest-to-god team winning out in a division packed with aristocrats.

If you had to sum up Roscommon in one line, that would be a contender.

What song did Croke Park play for Roscommon over the public address at the final whistle?  T'was hard to make it out on Teilifís.
