I'd be in the Coen camp as well, been very impressed with him this year. With the whole half back line actually, I know they have the half forwards sitting in front protecting them but they must still be the best half back line since Finnerty-Keady-McInerney. Cunningham has them motoring well and I expect a serious performance from them in the final. The winners will come from the other semi final though.

Freudian Slip? :) 'Tis still only a semi, no matter what Tipp and the Cats think :)

On another note, that little sub Galway brought on at centre forward, number 23 with the yellow helmet, did some unseen job. I copped him on the TV several times absolutely dogging Eoin Cadogan out of it. It was class. Cadogan is usually the lad spoiling and annoying fellas, but this lad was nearly inside his jersey, wiring into him as balls dropped 20 yards over their heads. Very funny.

That was Davy Glennon. Was man of the match in one of the minor All-Ireland finals a couple of years ago. Only a young fella. Meant to be a bit of a character alright.

Was he motm in the U-21 final last year as well?

Very nervy stuff from Galway, to be expected, but they got over the finishing line and that's job done for Cunningham and Co. Maybe the hype will die down abit after the Leinster final as there's nothing certain yet.

Was very impressed with paudie O'Sullivan and even though he ended up on the losing side, thought him and Horgan for Cork were immense. With the tactics of many defenders packing the defence O'Sullivan is well able to win his own ball and make space to get in a score.

Has Willie Egan fell out of favour at the minute?

Things weren't happening for Galway just as they were in the Kilkenny game, some missed lifts, astray passes and poor wides, but you always felt even with Corks greater efficiency in the first half that Galway had more to offer and they duly did by tacking on the points in the second half to open up a margin that Cork playing a packed defence weren't going to get the goal to steal the game. Galway also packed their defence and looked to hold what they had which led to a tennis like period in the second half.

Canning looks like a leaner beast now and still did a bit of damage even being well marshalled by Murphy with Cadogan sweeping in front.

Galway deserved the win. We lacked experience but we'll learn from it. The first half was very good, the second half not so much. Cork hit too many wides and we were just outplayed in the second half. Cork got further than most people thought we would. A couple of mistakes cost us but this year was always going to be a development year.

Egan I thought had a good game v Tipp in the Munster championship, I think it is more a case of Sean Óg starting to reproduce his old form rather than Egan dropping off too much. Kenny back in number 5 where he was in 2003 was a revelation all year.

Hard to believe thats true if you're in the process of developing the team for the future unless there's now doubt in JBM's mind that Egan is up to the job.

There has to be a balance between the new brigade and the older members of the panel, therefore I believe JBM was correct to keep this blend.
