We Irish are living longer than ever in history and eating better than ever in our history (with the possible exception of the previous generation).

Genetics will kill the vast majority of us before anything else.

We are not restricted by our genetics muppet. Too many people blame bad genes and use it as an excuse not to try.
I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight

Day 3 of the Juice Feast/Fast and have a dull headache, I'm a little tired but otherwise doing ok. Have my work to keep me occupied but thankfully this week have no major physical activity planned. Jumped on the scales this morning and I have lost 6lbs (I think the norm is 8-12lbs over the 10 days). Looking forward to the energy boost Puck mentioned and also just knowing I was able to do it.
Definitely don't agree with some people's attitudes of not caring if they die young. I'd love to make it to 100!

Trotted out by people with alarming regularity! My own kin included. "Ack sure well something has to kill me". Drives me nuts.

Anyway, I'd a good feed of stout last night and raised a glass to you Iceman.

You completely miss the point.

No one is blaming bad genes at all, quite the opposite. You are blaming everything else despite the evidence that we are living longer than ever. We are successfully removing non-inherited threats. Less women/children die in childbirth than ever in history, less die in wars, less die from famine and less die for other reasons than ever. Removing those serious historical killers leaves more down to simple genetics which is why we are living longer.

Some people just can't accept that we have never had it so good. Some people need to live in fear of the next bird flu, SARS, killer bees, mad juice disease etc.

Some people just can't accept that we have never had it so too good. Some people need to live in fear of the next bird flu, SARS, killer bees, mad juice disease etc.

There's a lot that can be laid at the door of our nutrition Muppet. I've never seen children as obese as they are these days.

Disease eradication/reduction has more than a little to do with it too!

Have been to the gym 5 times in 8 days!! you'd think i was training for our senior team at this rate. I was never a gym type of guy. Preferred the running in the cold nights of winter with my team mates on a mucky pitch and sprinting up hills (what da fcuk!!)

But i must say I am liking the experience of it,  have lost weight and starting to tone up. But you need to do the two things, diet and train. I have noticed a lot of people walking about doing a wee bit here and a wee bit there, I'm no training expert but these guys will never get anything out of it.

I would like to get a health MOT and see what's right or wrong with me, how much or where can i get this?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea
