The Garage is imo a really disturbing movie. Massively depressing also.

It may be Vanilla Sky (I may be wrong) but there is a scene in it where a young boy is on tv dying for a p*ss...... seriously squirming stuff.

The Garage was brutally depressing, also anything with Tom Cruise I find depressing!
Tbc....

Dead Man Walking ain't the cheeriest.

Hard Candy is an excellent film- Ellen Page is fantastic in it.

Was reading a review of Precious a few weeks ago in the IT, they said it was fantastic and a definite Oscar contender.

If you want that happy Christmas feeling suppressed, then watch the film on Network Two tonight.

Its called Open Water, and when I saw it first I thought it was fiction.

They both die in the end so who did they tell the story to?

Watched a film called Precious the other week. Black, obese, illiterate, teenager gets raped by her father from the age of three, has two children to him, one with Downs, abused by her mother for 'stealing her man' and then catches HIV.

And there was me expecting the latest Yankie rom-com.

They had an iPhone and were posting on their website.  ::)

BTW the worst film I've seen is:

Armagh: The Glory Year.

Advertised as'gripping' but it is more 'fouling'...and the ending is awful.
MWWSI 2017

Puckoon

I was depressed for about two days after watching alpha dog.

'Happiness' is indeed one of the most depressing films I've seen. But then again its directed by Todd Solandz who seems to specialize in that sort of thing.

Saw 'The Road' recently (starring Viggo Mortensen, and based on Cormac McCarthy's book). Well made film but fairly unrelenting in its misery.
"Calmer than you are".

The Real Laoislad

You'll Never Walk Alone.

Capt Pat

The movie "Johnny  got his gun" that you may know from the Metallica video "one"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzgGTTtR0kc

I haven't watched the whole movie yet, it is on google video but you will get the idea from the Metallica clip. A young man goes off to war and loses his arms and legs and  eyes and nose and face in an explosion and survives  and eventually has the nurse put him out of hismisery.
