 I can only re-call once a serious proposal that would  do away with the provincal system . Is there a heart for it within the GAA ?

That's the question John, what would a referendum of members throw up now? I think myself that time is ripe for a reappraisal.

I would think it would freshen things up how ever I dont think it would get the 2/3 majority .What it needs is crusader aiming for a high office to gather support from clubs ,County Boards and provincial councils ?

Yeah, we'd need a few powerful advocates, although I don't believe at the grassroots there is any great grá for the current provincial system, in any of the provinces. Momentum needs to be generated, and just how that is brought about is the question.
