The thing about a discussion is that those in discussion need to be able to understand each other. Otherwise it's not much of a discussion. That's why competence in English, rather than a Humpty Dumpty approach to meaning and syntax, is a requirement, not an optional extra, when it comes to sensible discussion.

You knob.

Bet you type all you're posts into word for a spell check etc. before submitting them, go on admit it  ;) - the ability to do this rather than just type and accept a few typo's on a discussion board, doesn't make you an intelligent person you know.  :-* :-*

Dead right in most respects. Except there's a spell-checker incorporated in my Firefox browser, so no need to type in Word. But if there wasn't, I would, nearly always. It's common courtesy.

You very nice person.

That or he clicks the spell check button ,which is two buttons right of the post button
Or he uses Firefox which has a built in spell checker.
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.

Hardy, I've edited the offending post. Don't let yourself down. Snowed Under, I've also edited yours. Abuse is abuse even if no swear words are used.

I'm going to the naughty step, so, without even being told. I'd rather have a slap, but that's not possible here.

How long should I stay on the step?

I think the grammar pedants wouldn't be happy with that, Hardy would never get off the step, I'd suggest "another All-Ireland".
If at first you don't succeed, then goto Plan B
