True, we have always climbed it in a group.

I have also climbed Croagh Patrick from alternative route.  It was easy enough going if I recall.  There are paths/roads there from the ill-fated mining efforts in 1980s.

There isn't the same erosion (or crowds!) to content with.

Normal rules about gear, boots, phone and food apply.

Well, I made it. The calves and thigh muscles a bit sore today but not too bad other than that.

That last section was very steep, and until you get to the ridge, you don't see quite how steep. Slipped a couple of times, one on way up and one on way down. It really it quite dangerous though. It was perfect conditions for me, but it must be lethal on wet days.

Views are magnificent on top though. Well worth climbing just for that alone. I doubt there's 365 Islands in Clew Bay though!
