I see the Uachtaràn has conceded that abolishing the U21 fupple isn't on following his chats with the Counties.
In fairness to him it's good that he was willing to step back having heard the feedback was contrary to his initial thoughts.

What was his initial thoughts? It was Paraic Duffy that wanted the U21 football grade scrapped and like 2007 he has been left disappointed again.

I think Paraic Duffy is a sensible man but I can't understand the proposal to get rid of U21 football (but not hurling) as it really isn't at all sensible. Surely the way to impact upon burnout is to limit the number of teams anyone can play on? I understand that getting enough support for restricting players to certain grades and/or codes would be a difficult sell but if it's the right answer then it should be pursued until you convince enough people of it. Once you limit the number of teams a player can play on you can look at more games in each competition and greater clarity on fixtures while at the same time eradicating burnout for the players most affected.

Sorry, I thought it was the President's idea.
