Bingo

You could head to Camden/wexford St. Few pubs round there - Flannerys etc that would also leave it very handy for Coppers etc which will be extremely busy, as usual but just earlier.

Yup - best suggestion for that age group. Mercantile, The Globe, No Name, Hogans all good stops before Flannery's and inevitably Coppers.

Bunsen does the best burger in Dublin there too so would be a good stop for refuelling and a big burrito from Burritos & Blues after spilling out at closing time is much tastier and a bigger food than any burger van.

And so it begins...

I take nothing to do with St Patrick's Day anymore. It's all about how much you can drink and how much you can make yourself look like a lephrachaun. What baffles me is that Irish people get annoyed when stereotyped as above, yet they add to it all on St Patrick's Day.

It'll be the club finals on TV. That'll be all.

How do you mean that's all it is? That's all it is for some people, generally the younger, no strings attached lads and lassies.

I love Paddy's Day, I think it's a real family day. We normally go to a local parade, either in Nenagh or Limerick, have a nice lunch out, with a pint maybe, then home and watch the club finals that I'll have taped. My only gripe with Paddy's Day is the fact that we don't get the day after off as well :)

Bombarded with the St. Patty's Day crap and  $3 Irish car bombs over here. I wonder if I ask for a twin towers how'd they react? (not that I would)

Its the same as anything else, do whatever suits yourself and let other people enjoy it how they see fit.

I don't think I've had a drink in on the day itself in about 9 years for various reasons but If I did I'd enjoy it. Nowadays, like AZ, its more a family day.

I enjoy the celebration. It's the only time we host a big party at the house. Family friendly.
We'll have about 30 here mid afternoon for home made irish stew, denny's wrapped in bacon, a few beers and irish coffees and kick them out shortly after dinner time.
I like to give the Americans a taste of real irish food, fly the flag and recruit whoever I can to the N.A.B
I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight
