I would admit I know little about the workings of the media or sports promotion. I am however fairly certain that whining like a little bitch about the coverage other sports recieve will do absolutely nothing to alter the coverage or lack of that the GAA recieves in certain quarters.

Hands up - credit where credit's due.

Almost unbelievably, the BBC NI news website is leading with the following story:

Kernan steps down as Armagh boss

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/northern_ireland/the_championship/6905552.stm

It looks like somebody in the BBC must have been viewing this thread at some stage.
I can't imagine this being the lead news story otherwise.
Credit where credit's due however - this coverage balances the worthington coverage I originally complained about.

You will find that this story is as much down to the bbc's sports reporter Mark Sidebottoms love affair with Big Joe and the Armagh team. He seesm to have found a new punk in Tyrone judging by his interview with the Tyrone team & "Mugsy" and "Ricey" the other night on the Championship......

Good to see Mark Sidebottom having a go at the Poc Fada, hope to see him in the Cooley Mountains next month.

He was narrowly defeated by his clubmate in the "veterans" section.....

never kickt a ball

The spat between Linfield and the IFA over Windsor Park was headline news on Radio Ulster news this evening.

T Fearon

It is laughable to observe this so called spat between Linfield FC and the IFA given that they are inextricably linked, joined at the hip, two sides of the same shitty coin (I am running out of cliches, oops that's another one ;D) ;D

To illustrate, the second most important story on BBC NI Sports @ the minute:

FROM BBC SPORT >>
Dick quits Glens after Walker row
Glentoran's Director for Football Tom Dick resigns in the wake of managerial shambles at the club.

When is the last time that a GAA county board chairman's resignation / non-election has been a BBC NI Sports news item?
I'll save you the bother of having to look it up - the answere is NEVER.

I'm not trying to be smart, but the Glens presumably sent the BBC a press release and they ran with it. Do the GAA do likewise?

You can piss vinegar all you like, its not the BBC's fault that the IFA have full time press officers feeding lazy journo's stories. Rather than cry conspiracy, find out why the GAA arent doing likewise.

Again, this from a guy who claimed to be a GAA member and fan in a vain attempt to gain leverage in his debates about Shamrock Rovers fans being scum  :D :D :D :D :D :D

Credibility = ZERO
