You weren't quoting the radio when you claimed he was 40.
Which St. Galls lads are you on about anyway?

I claimed he was 40?.  ::) Slight embellishment. I said he must be touching 40. Meaning mid to late 30's. He played for UUJ in 1994/95 college season cos I played against him.

Where is the likes of Kieran McGourty, Karl Stewart, Mark Pollock?? Saw them v Cross last year. Looked pretty good.

You would have been doing well seeing as he played for St. Pat's in the MacRory final in 1996!!
He was still playing MacRory football for St Pats in '97

Cunningham and McCann were decent.

The sendings off at the end were a disgrace, hope they are both rescinded. Why does this ref do it?

Kevin Brady was minor in 96. Played corner forward in the first team we had to win a minor match in a while. (Might have been against Donegal) He would have still been playing McRory in 97 too as he was a few months over for minor.

He is the age Sam says he is and no way was he playing sigerson in 94/95. I played u14, u16, minor and was a fresher the same time as him(97/98) so am 100% sure on this! (I remember very clearly the tackle Gourley put in on him in the Queens UUJ freshers match as I still don't know how he wasn't maimed from it!)

Poor result yesterday - not looking good for the donegal match  >:( Hopefully we'll get a few back and that will raise hopes.

Kevin Madden retired from the intercounty scene a couple of years ago on medical advice.

ck
reference UUJ 94/95 and playing county, are you talking about Kevin Bateson?

He is mid 30's now and played for the poly and Antrim around that time

I don't think ck knows what day it is.

RE: Owens

It's exactly what I thought too. In saying that, he's a decent wee footballer and is as worthy of a place on the panel as a number of others. Probably will be a mainstay for them this year. He is kept out of a full strength St.Gall's team by:
Brady (would be on the county team but injured)
McClean (would be on the county team but injured)
Gribbies (Don't know why he doesn't play county, although I suspect it is his own choice)
Kelly (Won't play for the county)
Healy (Playing)
Who am I missing?

We are seriously depleted in the backs.

If Kevin Brady isn't good enough for the panel above, he must have had his right leg cut off and I haven't heard.

You must be having a laugh HS. Nowhere near county standard.
New season - new reason

Aye, I was enquiring of ck if that was possibly who he had got confused with Kevin Brady. Doubt he knows though

I think it was 96 Madden had some involvement in a bit of a rucus in the McRory final between Magherafelt and Maghera so he'd be a bit younger too. (I'm pretty sure Madden is 33 - played minor against him in 96)
