I think TAM makes sense, he says that Galway can beat Dublin but they are unlikely to end up with a better points difference than Monaghan, should Monaghan beat Mayo.
In the event of Galway winning, their realistic hopes of survival would depend on Monaghan not winning.

Armagh are suddenly our brothers in the survival stakes. They need us more than we need them :)

Sorry but Armagh don't need anyone. IF they win then they are safe, end of story.

What you need is:

  • For them to lose

  • You then need Galway to win

  • Finally you need to beat Mayo AND end up with a 5 point turnaround on Armagh

If two teams are level then the head-head counts, if three or more are level then it is score difference that counts. If Galway lose then you will be relegated regardless of results because the best you can hope for is to finish level with Armagh on 4 points then the only thing that will matter is that Armagh beat you in head-head. You need all three of you to finish on 4 points and for you to have the best score difference.

Galway will have a very good chance of winning as they are fighting for their survival, are at home, and Dublin are not going to be too interested. You have a good chance for the same reasons. Armagh would be expected to lose to Cork. Then you all tie on 4 points each and it comes down to score difference where Armagh are currently 4 better than you.

Sorry to be selfish but I hope Armagh win, because then we have a chance of getting to the league final.

Happy with the win yesterday lots of positives from Kerry, our second long trip to Ulster and 2nd good win without really havingto push ourselves to 100%, was expecting a sterner challange from Monaghan to be honest but it never happened for them on the day and when Kerry took control in Midfield in the first half it left us with many scoring opportunituies and thankfully we built up a good lead with the wind and the goal killed off the game as a contest. Strange Monaghan did not take the wind advantage in the first half.

Monaghan battled on well in the second half but you could see they were really missing some of their experienced players like Finlay , Hughes made a good impact when he came on as did Freeman but it was a tough lead to peg back and we always looked like we could have move up a gear or two if required.

Anthony Maher had a good first half and we cleaned up lots of the breaks with Galvin, O'Mahony and Declan O'Sullivan all showing well before the tae break.

Geaney and O'Leary did their championship chances no harm either and Donaghy is contuiing to impress this spring. Thankfully we did not miss the like of Cooper and Tomas O'Se and Eoin Brosnan and the injured Bryan Sheehan and Tom O'Sullivan hopefully the weekend off will stand to them all.

The U21 are out against Cork on Wed and none of them were involved either so there will be a half dozen or so of them to get back in the panel come championship time, there will be huge competition to get into the 26 man panel for the championship. Expect a biteen of training skelping over the coming weeks.

Down will be a tough challenge next weekend but it gives us something to play for now with a possibly final spot against the Jackeens up for grabs and hopefully Armagh can take something off the Cork lads to make it interesting. The only dilema is the Kerry county board had provisionally booked a week's training camp in Portugal the week of the league final as it looked like we would be playing any part in it so they may have to change that after the results next weekend but its a nice situation to be in.

Hopefully Monaghan can rescue themselves next weekend against Mayo and stay up in the top flight.

Yes, but as you wrote it is a big IF and more than likely Cork will beat Armagh.

That's right it is a very big IF. but just don't get how they need you more than you need them. They only need you OR Galway to lose to avoid relegation. You absolutely require them to lose. So surely you need them more than they need you?

You need a more results to go in your favour than they do but your set of results does look the more likely. Armagh would not be made favourites to Cork and with Dublin already through, Galway could quite possibly turn them over.

But as I said, sorry but I would prefer Armagh win because it gives us a shot at getting to the final.

I think you take some things way too serious.

We've been reprieved after being strapped in the death chair. Another 6 days of first div status is a luxury. We are not sweating on what anybody else does. We're a dead team walking, just enjoying the lifeline.
Who would have figured on Galway beating Armagh at the Gaelic grounds? ;D

Fair enough but I worry for your chances of gettig back up. Monaghan are an enthusiastic support and I've never had a bad day in Clones (even when we lost). Also I see you as a very honest team, can't remember any dirt or sly moves.

By the way which club does Eoin Duffy play for, is it Latton?

Yeah that's how i would have spelt it but that's how it was reported in the news. So I wasn't sure if it was him. I know his sister well and his family so that's another reason I would have a soft spot for you guys.
