This was for the NFL competition, not the Championship right? What position did she finish overall?

T Fearon

Can't remember, but it was in the top 5 or 6. Point I'm trying to make here is that for the previous fantasy competition,GL listed prizes and prize winners, yet a prizewinner never received her prize. Will it be any different for the Championship game prize winners?

Apologies! The grapevine tells me that this is going to be rectified shortly! Its amazing how effective this Board is! The People's Champion and Defender of All Competition Entrants Human Rights! :D

Won a fecking Ulster Bank  GAA anorak last week but managed to pull the zipper thingy off when opening the package? Repair suggestions please?

The reason I am curious is because I'm pretty sure I finished ahead of her. I can't remember exactly where I finished, but it was no lower than 4th overall. This suggests that I am the rightful recipient of the Armagh section winner's prize. Hand it over Fearon!

I haven't got it to hand it over! But didn't rules state that the top 5 finishers overall were each to get the main prizes, then after this the top winners in each county, (excluding anyone who finished in the top 5) were also to get or were supposed to get a jacket. You don't want two prizes now surely? Don't be greedy

Translated. Put in on and tried to zip it up. Too tight. Zip busted.
Memo to self......take a few steps back and close the fridge door!

Did they? I got one prize for finishing second in the board league. I got nothing for coming 3rd/4th overall and top of the Armagh section. To be honest, I could care less but it has to be said that the whole thing seems very poorly organised. The scoring was suspect the whole way through the league, culminating in some bizarre goings on in the final week which saw me drop two or three spots from first place despite outscoring the people that overtook me in that week.

T Fearon

Quite simply and reasonably, you got one prize as designated, having finished in the top 5, then the person from Armagh who finished second in the County, also got a prize, and this was explained in the rules before the comp started. I kept my own check on my scores and those of my wife, each week, using stats from the Irish News, and I must say they tallied in both cases, with GL's without fail week after week.

How do you know who others had in their teams or that they did not overtake you fairly?

mountainboii

They did a feature on the top four teams the week before the league finals, so I knew who my three closest competitors had in their teams and was able to calculate their final week totals along with my own. After contacting the paper, the explanation given for the odd scoring in the final week was that there had been a scoring mix up in one of the earlier weeks, and it had only then been rectified. This explanation was probably truthful and the other lads probably did beat me fairly, but I was still a bit miffed that they carried the error through three or four issues of the paper, including in the aforementioned two page feature. Fundamental errors like this, which seemingly aren't spotted for weeks, would give me the impression that it wasn't very well organised.
