While Saturdays result was a set-back we are still in with a great chance of promotion, Cavan had a bad start and with their big players back were always going to put it upto Down, It was like a championship game to them.... Its not all doom and gloom, look at the players who didn't start and Big Dan needs game time!!!!

Down fans are the most pessimistic supporters in Ireland!!!!!!!

You Downmen have probably discussed this to death, but what's Carr's problem with Mickey Walsh? Is he even on the panel?

No not on squad. was told at start of last season by letter that travelling from London was the reason for his non inclusion. even though he is home full time over a year. Ross has some problem and hasnt the balls to explain to the fella why he is not on squad. although very injury prone, he is stil in the top forwards in Down.

Maybe some of the bridge boys can shed some light?

I've always been a big fan of Walsh and some of his classy displays with the bridge the last 2 summers have made it all the more confusing as to why he is dropped off the county panel.

I feel that the current squad are good enough to challenge for at least an Anglo Celt this year especially if are best players stay fit and if Doyle can return in time. But Walsh seems to have that composure and creativity that our forwards lack, and would surely be a huge boost as I'm sure a lot of the county players would rate him themselves. I know the defence has taken some critcism in the last few years but if you look at the crucial games last summer agiainst Armagh and Wexford the forwards did'nt turn up.
