Saw a few clips on it on the news this evening. Haven't been following it lately but it looks like it's a lot more exciting than in the Schumacher years when I tuned out because you knew who was going to win every Grand Prix before they'd even started practice. Wouldn't mind getting back into it if I had the time.

Actually watched a bit of the Qualifying on Saturday so watched the Grand Prix on Sunday and it was actually quite good viewing. I've never really watched a full one before and wasn't sure if I could sit through a full one but maybe I hit lucky with some good action throughout and the two McLarens having a go at each other. Hamilton must be wondering how he didn't at least end up on the podium, his tactics and tyre choice seemed to turn out to be a nightmare.  Anyway, as they say in racing, no smoke no poke...bap bap bap...
I'm gonna punch you in the ovary, that's what I'm gonna do. A straight shot. Right to the babymaker.

The changes they have made with regards to tyres ect have made it very watchable now and I have been gettin back into it this yr plus the beeb have been doing a good job covering it but now sky is taking over next yr with the beeb only showing half the races which is a pity as I dont have sky and dont intend on gettin it.

I love the overhead camera angles too. We never had that in our day.

Why was Lando Norris told to give up first place?

To prevent Hamilton splitting the McLarens on the podium.

Piastri was leading, and in the normal course he would have pitted first.

But there was a risk that if Piastri and Hamilton both pitted on same lap and Norris the following lap, Hamilton would have ended up ahead of Norris. So to remove that risk McLaren brought Norris in first, and the 'undercut' (I.e. first lap on new tyres was a lot faster than last lap on old tyres) meant Piastri fell behind Norris.

As this was the result of a McLaren decision to protect Norris, it should not disadvantage Piastri. Therefore, they were ordered by their team to go back to their pre-pit stop positions.

Would have been interesting if Norris had given the position back with 10 laps to go instead, as he happened to be much faster in the last stint.
