Hello all! Long time reader but my first post!
I've been very unlucky with eye injuries in the past while and I've had 2 fairly bad corneal abrasions (a scratch on the surface of the eye) in the last 2 months , if any of ye have sufferd this you'll know it's extreemely sore.
Anyway I was wondering if anyone could recommend a pair of goggles or something that would be suitable for playing football with that might allow me to play/train earlier that I otherwise could.

Thanks!

None that I know of BB but i wouldn't recommend rushing back from an eye injury tbh.

Edgar Davids, the Dutch soccer footballer, wears the glasses following an operation on his right eye in 1999 for glaucoma. Davids received permission from FIFA.

I have a pair of touch-rugby goggles that I got sent over from London, went into Spec-savers a few years back & at the time there was no one in Ireland or at least thats what I understood doing them, they where not actually Specsavers but they did order them for me. I think they where about 220 sterling, might be wrong, I can check and see if they have a brand on them. I have got boxed black and blue with footballs and fists and they still holding up well.

There's a fella  ;) at our club that had to wear these bad boys for a couple of years:

He had an infection that prevented him wearing contact lenses so needed the optical insert as well...

Thanks for the pointers, the handball goggles probably wouldn't do, I don't think that they have lenses in them. I wouldn't need the optical inserts haveing had my eyes lasered last year. Those addidas ones might well be worth a look alright.Son_of_Sam, if you get any more details on the ones you had let me know, sounds like they have been tried and tested for gaelic football!

Never posted here before now.

The handball goggles will protect you against everything except a finger in the eye. They can withstand a ball traveling at about 80mph. After a while you don't notice you have them on if you take the foam out

"Rec Specs" I was adivsed that I should replace if they got a big hit, but I havent, I think they where only trying to cover their own backs, have used them in junior football and 5-a-side soccer, a few stray fists, a few stray Gaa balls and heading soccer balls have all been ok, so far.

a fella who played for Greenlough, Derry used to always wear those goggles, email their club website for details.
