Bringing the Garda riot squad into Clones is fine but what happens if Casement ever gets built and hosts an Ulster final...

Drunken brawl at the Balmoral Show.

Clearly there is an issue with farmers at the show and we need to send in the riot police to arrest and ban those responsible.

If there was ever any reason needed not to get into a drunken scrap then the proliferation of mobile phones these days would be it. Absolute embarrassment all round.

The wee blonde shouting 'fight fight fight' at the end then sucking on some vaping device. Imagine yourself watching that with a hangover. Ouch!

It's weird that  while a brawl is going on, people falling around the place,  punches thrown,  boots swinging,  that your first instinct is to whip out a phone  and  stand there and record.

I mean if two or three  hefty boyos are in a brawl and they come  your direction, it'll be you in  the back of an ambulance, not them

My instinct is  would be to get  offside and let  them at it. Or protect  anyone with you , especially kids

Quote from: Franko on May 13, 2025, 01:25:57 PMBecause every bloody game involves a huge garda operation c/w fan segregation / searches / pub opening hour restrictions / riot cops etc etc.

This isn't true and you know it isn't. So why post it?

And have you ever heard of Rathnew v Rathdrum? Referees getting battered and left in car boots overnight?

Quote from: Franko on May 13, 2025, 01:25:57 PMAll to keep the scum from battering the heads off each other.

And, with all that, they STILL can't manage to stop soccer thugs from being soccer thugs.

STILL they find a way to engage in constant mass brawls - because it's what they came for

In the GAA that simply doesn't happen - and much as it pains you, massive garda operations just aren't necessary
But it does happen. It happened twice at the weekend. There were dozens of incidents in the summer before Covid.

But my point has been proven. Too many folk in the GAA don't want to deal with the issue before it gets out of hand. Fine. But stop with the default 'soccer scum' nonsense, especially since they have by and large fixed it.

Quote from: Franko on May 13, 2025, 01:25:57 PMRival fans congregate in pubs beforehand TOGETHER and sit in the stands beside each other

And they do at soccer too. Even the Dublin Derby has mixed pubs, and that is a hatred the GAA simply doesn't have.

Do you really think LoI fans don't mix? Seriously?

Quote from: Franko on May 13, 2025, 01:25:57 PMThere's an odd incident (which there will be when you mix testosterone, drink/drugs and sporting rivalry)

Then clowns like yourself pounce upon it and start with the straw man arguments

Interesting you accuse me of a strawman, considering your entire argument is about another sport.

Quote from: Franko on May 13, 2025, 01:25:57 PMAnd just to finish off - here's a cracker from 2018 in the Dublin SCHOOLBOY leagues where they had to abandon seven games in six weeks due to brawls, quite a few of which involved adults striking children

This is my entire damn point. Leaving aside that there is also the occasional bout of murder at underage GAA, there were problems at soccer and soccer fixed, or at least had an internal discussion about fixing, said problem. A marker was laid, anybody associated with a soccer club acting the bollox at games like that and the club gets punished. That is now the culture at underage soccer.

There remains, as amply proven by yourself, a culture within the GAA that simply won't accept that there is too much thuggery in and around games because fixing it would fail some sort of purity test. That is grand, but be honest about it.

A while ago. I was off socials for about 6 months. But the man is getting played here I feel.

We see if the Balmoral video makes the news, way worse than anything I seen at recent games. Still think there should be heavier punishments for drink fuelled wankers!

Genuine question here mate. Have they actually fixed fighting in the FAI? I lived in England a long time and kept hearing the same thing. And while fighting in stadiums was by and large stopped, it just moved it to organised fights in other olaces. One I got caught up in and it wasn't pleasant at all
