People who say Paudie Clifford is more important than David remind me of those people who say they would keep working if they won the lotto.

Paudie though is arguably more important now. I'm constantly referencing him with young lads to look at his ball control and movement, his heads up play. For a lad who never played county Minor or U20 he's remarkable.

2 or 3 years ago hed have scored 2-12 or 2-13 though

Still an incredible player but missing chances he never misses and lacking a bit of pace today at times.

It's a long year though

Ah look they're both really quality players. I don't see how anyone could argue that Paudie is more important though.
If David got injured you could say Kerry are fucked. Don't think that's the case if Paudie was out injured - good and all as he is.

Paudie ran the game today... Id say if either get injured they are in bother.

Yeah I wouldn't disagree. Paudie is really the main supplier of ball which is why he's important. It's not that he's more important than David it's that David would see a lot less ball without him. It's a more replaceable role but I am not sure Kerry have loads fit for it.

Paudie's performance in the classic 2022 semi final was a privilege to witness, won a couple of dirty balls when Kerry started to wobble, watching the Kerry faithful cry tears of joy after the match was reminiscent of Paul Galvan bawl his eyes out after a qualifier 10 years prior
