I said this before on here...It's my understanding the majority of Armagh fans want Antrim to have their home game in Corrigan Park and do not mind too much missing out on the game. This is all down to Ulster GAA and a financial decision. Play the game in Corrigan Park and have your 4k supporters and move on.
On the birght side you will not have the buckfast boking teenagers at it as someone put it earlier...

Quote from: Orior on March 07, 2025, 10:41:49 AMAs someone else said earlier, if Antrim want to grow the game in their county then they need as many youngsters as possible in the ground to see their team playing against the All-Ireland champions.

The current publicity is great but it won't steer young lads away from the soccer ball.

Not sure the crowds of buckfast gulpers would seal the deal either
Yeah.  Cause they'll be in Corrigan/Newry.  ::)  The Buckfast Brigade don't come out until we get to Clones.
Keep your pecker hard and your powder dry and the world will turn.

As if the Ulster Council haven't fĂșcked Antrim GAA enough.

Why not play the game in Corrigan? Let young Antrim Gaels see their county go toe to toe against the reigning the All Ireland champions on home turf in Belfast. What a shot in the arm that could be for GAA in the country's second city? What's more important? That or placating a few season ticket holders?

No forget it, bring them to f**king Newry, a de facto home match for Armagh.

Ulster GAA only thinking about the extra few pound they'll get by having the match in Newry.  Time for common sense to prevail and allow Antrim play their home match in Corrigan Park.

Quote from: Armagh18 on March 07, 2025, 04:29:19 PMI'm sure 90% of Armagh season ticket holders wouldn't be that bothered if they miss what will realistically be a low intensity walk in the park for Armagh, no disrespect to Antrim.

I don't think that season ticket holders in any county would be happy if the GAA can arbitrarily set up games to exclude them

So Dublin sell 25,000 season tickets then basically all their opponents would have to sacrifice home advantage?

The size of Corrigan Park may be small but so is practically every county pitch in Ireland if compared to Croke Park

Down for Sam!

Dublin don't sell season tickets.
They're sold by Croke Park and are limited to 3,500 (?) Per County.

Wont be (m)any tickets available for the "young gaels" of Antrim when players, sponsors, Armagh ST holders are all sorted out.

Cork footballers won't trouble the capacity of many Stadia.

Leitrim ground can hold around 13k.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

This is really all  Armagh's fault

If they weren't so good , they'd have less season ticket holders , and  Corrigan Park's capacity wouldn't be an issue

Talk about selfish  ::)

In fairness, Armagh are coming out of this well. Without doubt the best support in Ireland, pro rata.

They always did, the first round games in 2002 had 30,000 people, and were played at a venue that could accommodate that crowd.

Have Ulster GAA made public the reason for changing the venue of the game?

Duine Inteacht Eile

In reaching this decision, the committee sympathised with Antrim GAA's situation, which re-iterates the need for Casement Park to be redeveloped as a matter of urgency.

Yet, they hold all the cards on that one.
I mean, you literally did a land grab on our county ground. You failed in delivering what you promised you would. Now you are punishing our teams for that.

Luckily for you, we are a cult and happily go along with whatever you say.

I'm bored of it now. Hopefully neither side back down and the game isn't played so Ulster gaa get not one penny.

Agreed.

Bureaucrats are ruining the GAA.

Champion The Wonder Horse

Antrim didn't get a seconder for their motion to host the game at Corrigan. Disappointing from the other counties.

The Ulster Ciuncil that ye're all moaning about isnt some outside agency.
It's made up of GAA people from the 9 Counties of Ulster
Play the game and play it fairly
